Hi all.

I stumbled across this page as I was trying to find a specific fact on Estonia to include in my powerpoint that I am giving to the group of missionaries that I will be leading to Estonia. this post has left me wondering if ANY of you have EVER set foot in the country of Estonia, or if this is all just things you read on the internet/ what you and your friends gossiped about. Having been heavily involved with ministry there I can say that almost every single ounce of this is absolutely wrong. this post along with all of the misjudgments, completely asinine comments about people purposely getting pregnant to practice abortion, and general hate have left me feeling sick to my stomach.

while the country is incredibly dark, the church that IS alive is incredibly vibrant, quite possibly the most vibrant, beautiful example of God's love that I have seen. GOD DOES NOT HATE THIS PLACE, BUT HE IS SO INCREDIBLY IN LOVE WITH IT. if not, then He would not continually be doing MIRACLES in the country, saving people, providing hope and BLESSING them.

Well that's certainly an impassioned speech friend! My only quibble with it is its lack of Biblical consistency. For example, you say God doesn't hate. I wonder if you've ever read the Bible? I don't mean a few favorite stories, like when Jesus heals crippled or retarded people, or when He springs fish with gold coins from the waters, I mean all of it, every chapter, every verse. You'll find God does indeed hate quite a few people and many behaviors as well. I'd hate to see yet one more misguided person teaching a false Gospel to the poor, suffering fools of Russia's discarded peasants. It would be better for a millstone to be tied around your neck than to teach a false gospel.

Where is the opportunity for "opinions" when God has spelled out The Truth in such detail as we find in the pages of The Bible? I don't have any and I'm quite certain Mrs Etheldreda doesn't have any either.

The reason why you are unable to quote Scripture—and I don't mean random verses taken out of context—is because your opinions are just that. Opinions. And they are supported neither in Scripture nor by the record of history.

Without The Bible to guide and instruct us we were like lost sheep. At the mercy of any passing fad and headed for perdition. God, on the other hand, is always consistent. Once we actually read His Inerrant Word we realized The Truth and have now been set free. You can be free too.

I am truly open to learning about the bible from other people, my heart is in no way, shape or form hardened to Jesus Christ. BUT, I would be weary to learn from complete strangers who have said MULTIPLE, ignorant, false, judgmental things about a group that (almost all that are speaking) know not much about.
yes, MUCH, almost all, of Estonia is without God, but there is LIGHT. and the few wonderful souls that do shine over there are so much more vibrant than a mass majority of Christians I have seen in the states, they dont have these massive support systems, and community groups. All they have is the Word of God, and his presence, and a desire to see God save His people.



And the churches I have been to in Estonia go verse by verse through the bible. In one of the largest cities in the country I visited three, healthy reproducing churches, that were steadily growing.

In 1992, Estonia legalized homersex, and just 2 years after that, God sank a boat with the very name "Estonia" filled with drunken Estonianians, Swiss and Sinlanders (many probably practising the newly legalized homersex in the cabins). 20 years later, their Swiss president takes it one step further and legalizes homermarriage against the very will of our Brother Vladimir Putin, and of course, God.
