Hi there!
I hope your name isn't a reference to having a bowel movement (bm) in Mineshaft, that 8-bit Satanic computer game.
Because that would be disgusting. And probably painful.
Getting back to the matter at hand--your salvation--Brother Hutchins is right on the money.
You see,
sinning is, quite simply, disobeying any of God's Commands. Any sin is adequate to ensure your entry into God's Lake of Fire.
How can you obey God if you don't know His Commands?
Right now, you're probably getting a bit worried. You could be sinning right now, and not even know it!
Here's what to do:
Read the Bible. Take copious notes. Write down every Commandment; you can't just live by the Ten Commandments (which is technically eleven, as you will see if you write them all down each of the three times they are presented as Ten)! There are over 600!
Also, make notes about the stories in the Bible, and the messages you see. What do they teach you about God?
You will find, as I did, that gradually you get to know the Truth about God and Jesus. Let me tell you friend, that will be a glorious day! I remember the day it all fell into place for me. My eyes were opened. I felt so free, so alive! I no longer worried about finding myself in Hell. Then, and now, I know exactly what will happen to me when I die, and I don't even give it a second thought anymore.
Can you say the same?
Now, I realize the Bible may seem a bit daunting. Especially when you get to Numbers, much of which is genealogies. For your first time through, I suggest skimming over the begats, but don't skip the whole book of Numbers. There are some important stories buried in the begatting.
Like the story of the Midianites! That's one of my favorites, it teaches Godly justice.
You may want help with your Bible study. I have good news! By using the links in my signature, you can access the Bible in a Year section of this very forum, and read along with Landover's Brother V. You can join the discussion or just read what others have said. Or, check out Real Bible Stories, which is geared more toward Bible beginners.
Best of all, use both of these great resources as you study your King James Bible!
Let us know how we can help you in your growing understanding of God and Jesus.
