I would echo Brother Nobar's advice about getting a Bible to study too. The Word of God can be had for free if you just visit your local Independant Baptist Church and ask the Pastor for one. Make sure you ask specifically for a KJV1611 Authorized Version Bible.

Well, I don't really see a problem with anime.

My husband is a voice actor, and he voices in anime.

True, some of it is very demonic-centered, and makes me feel uncomfortable that he is voicing in it. But some of it is more innocent and we allow our children to watch it.

Some of the underlying tones are to trust in friends, believe in yourself, and to try your best in everything you do. So we are trying to teach those things to our children.

I am not trying to bash on people's opinions of this subject. Just getting my thoughts out there.

While the "underlying tones" in certain anime may be good--so-called, because as apart from God how can we ever be "good"?, but that's a whole other can of worms--the "overt tones" of anime are tentacle rape of under-aged school girls. You can't really reconcile the two. If I give you a glass of milk consisting of 99% milk and 1% cyanide; you would be wise not to drink that milk. Anime has a ratio of 99% amoral, degenerate porn-stories to about 1% of positive values--and even that is "secular positive values" rather than Biblical truth. Do you really think we should be watching it? I have a sample below and it's clearly NSFW--but this is the kind of filth that young people in Asia watch daily and it is invading America at alarming speed:

as someone who hopes for a future career making manga I dont see what is wrong with manga or anime. it is very simular to your everyday cartoons exept the cultural diffrences and art style, the most popular of anime that consists of super heroes is a lot more decent than the super heroes in american media, mainly because the heroes work hard to acheive thier power/strength while superman was born like it which shows kids you got to work hard at life.

Apparently the church has had a time of it keeping it out of the schools in our beloved home. Thanks to the efforts of good folk like Captain Portway, children in Freehold are spared the kind of sex-obsession anime tries to bring to America.
