Money -

Hi, i am new here and I have a question: Everyone should donate money to the worthy, and as the Bible says:It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.. so how can members send all their money to the Landover Baptist Church if they so wish and will doing so greatly improve their chances of being saved?

What church do you go to, what is your favourite Bible verse and when did Jesus first touch you?
Then we can get on to all the good works Landover does.
YIC
1 Corinthians 11:3 But I would have you know, that the head of every man is Christ; and the head of the woman is the man; and the head of Christ is God.
Revelation 22:15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.
Leviticus 20:13 If a man also lie with mankind, as he lieth with a woman, both of them have committed an abomination: they shall surely be put to death; their blood shall be upon them.

I attend the holy church of Thomas the doubter,Frickasee County, Jesus touched me when i was a small child and my favourite passage in the bible is : 2 Timothy 4:1 - I charge [thee] therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom.
By the way sir, the question wasn't just for me but also for others that would like to contribute to the wonderful work that the Landover Church is doing

You don't want to be caught robbing God, do you?
Malachi 3:8-10: Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye [are] cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, [even] this whole nation. Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the LORD of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that [there shall] not [be room] enough [to receive it].
This church is dedicated to preaching True Christianity™ and the King James Bible exactly as they are, with no alterations to make them more politically correct for modern liberals. If you think that we've misquoted or twisted Scripture or quoted any verse out of context, please explain in detail how we've done so. Otherwise, if what you read on this site offends you, then you're offended by Almighty God and His Word, not by us.

Giving money to Jesus is a method of showing your devotion.
God sees a rich man and could care less about tithes from him as making another million is a walk in the park. What God really wants to see is the person who is broke, cannot feed his family or provide even the most basic of necessities. God expects that man to give 50% or more of all money to Him.
So you can see, God is not after getting the millions of dollars, he wants the $1.00 from the man that only has $2.00
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I find it unusual that you would post 2 Tim. 4:1 and not its natural, logical and even grammatical partner, 2 Tim 4:2. Let's look at the two of them together since they are only separated by a semi-colon, hmm?
(2 Timothy 4:1-2) "I charge thee therefore before God, and the Lord Jesus Christ, who shall judge the quick and the dead at his appearing and his kingdom; Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine."
That changes things a little bit, doesn't it?
See, many people think that the first verse tells us that only God judges, but in context you will see that it says WE will be judged if we DON'T use His Word to preach, rebuke and exhort.
In reality, the very part of the Bible that people try to use against us in fact supports our mission.
Pretty cool, huh?
Yours in Christ,
Z. Smyth

1Timothy 6:10 For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. 11 But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.
12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.
No, the love of money is the root of all evil. Money is fine if you still have righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience and meekness which is the very definition of a Landover True Christian.

The first great difficulty here is, "If I give $1000,000 to the poor, I will be making them rich: if I make them rich, they will not go to heaven.
The second is that Jesus said that the poor are always with us. Because Jesus knew these things, then no matter what we do, there will always be poor people - so giving money seems to be quite useless.
Instead, we send Bibles to starving Africans so that they may see Heaven.

It is far better for a small child to die in it's mothers arms 'saved' than to live a full healthy life as unsaved trash. We are only a short time on Earth but we are an eternity basking in the glory of God or burning in everlasting torment.

So, let me get this straight, god wants a 50% tax. Thats basically what youre saying isnt it. Hes like the government maybe? The government uses tax to control the masses? They lie? They cheat? They enforce stupid laws?

You seem very angry - True Christians aren't angry. They understand.
God doesn't need money, He just likes to see that you are not ruled by money. 1Tm:6:10: For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows. I am rich enough to tell you that money doesn't matter.
God is not like Government. He is interested in your eternal soul not your life in this Vale of Tears. You do what he says, and you go to heaven - simple.
Malachi 3:8 Will a man rob God? yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes & offerings.

Mark 14:1 After two days was the feast of the passover, and of unleavened bread: and the chief priests and the scribes sought how they might take him by craft, and put him to death. 2 But they said, Not on the feast day, lest there be an uproar of the people.
3 And being in Bethany in the house of Simon the leper, as he sat at meat, there came a woman having an alabaster box of ointment of spikenard very precious; and she brake the box, and poured it on his head.
4 And there were some that had indignation within themselves, and said, Why was this waste of the ointment made?
5 For it might have been sold for more than three hundred pence, and have been given to the poor. And they murmured against her.
6 And Jesus said, Let her alone; why trouble ye her? she hath wrought a good work on me.
7 For ye have the poor with you always, and whensoever ye will ye may do them good: but me ye have not always.
Jesus liked a bit of luxury and having money spent on Him even if it meant the poor went without. I think He would love to see a nice big Church and the poor tithing.
