Jorts? -
05-05-2010, 09:25 PM
Hello fellow Sisters and homemakers in Christ. I wanted to bring up the subject today of jorts, or as us older women know them as, cut-offs.
This is an excellent way of extending the life of a pair of denims that have worn through the knees, especially if you have boys that are near in age. Oldest boy wore out the knees? Just cut them off and you have a pair of shorts for the next boy in line.
Of course there are some rules that we should follow regarding these "jorts" (sorry, I just have trouble with that name, what was wrong with cut-offs?) Of course girls should never wear such a thing, they're basically pants and showing off knees is sinful and seductive. There is actually a website dedicated to jorts, so I'll use examples from there for each step.
One thing is they shouldn't be too tight.
Is this man living with a permanent wedgie? Time to retire this pair.
Here is a good pair, note that they come down to the knee, are hemmed (what a good wife this man must have) and are of a proper fit as to not impede the man as he walks. In fact he almost looks like our Good Brother Nobar.
Cargo pants can also be made into a nice pair of jorts
A smidge too short, my rule is that you should not be able to see butt cheeks or pocket linings when you cut them off.
The man has a nice pair, the woman should not be wearing them and this is a prime example of why
Although this man looks like a homer, I would say this is about the shortest you should go.
Boys, please let your mothers make them for you, else wise you may end up with uneven legs and it will look funny
Well there you go ladies, a way to extend the wear of that old pair of jeans. Remember that wasting things costs your husband money and that's a sin.

OMG! Hey! I'm not that fat!
Also, there's nothing wrong with cut-offs. Maybe if you get too many dangly white threads you should cut them off, but whatever. Who came up with this Jorts thing? It must be those homers trying to ruin another good tradition for the rest of us.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

Back when I was a pastor in California, our church used to hold picnics in parks and other outdoor events in the warm summer. Since it can get pretty hot out there, some of the congregation resorted to wearing these "jorts". I chastised them for their disgusting, slutty fashion and asked them rhethorically: "Would Jesus wear jean shorts? No, He wore a long robe that covered himself modestly."
A woman should never wear jean shorts - or shorts, period. Showing any part of the leg is for harlots and a decent Christian woman would not and should not advertise her wares to any heavy-breathing pervert with a condom and a motel key.
Disgusting whores! Doesn't it just make you want to throw up seeing these young, college girls indulge in such sleaze? I know I would love to give them my rod of correction and educate them to be decent Christian ladies!
As for men wearing these abominations...I think this pic sums it up best why not.

Ewwwww. I hate cut-offs in general. *gags* (Btw, I have never once heard the word jorts in my life. O.O)
Personally, I don't think anybody should where them.
1 Timothy 2:11-15
Let the woman learn in silence with all subjection. But I suffer not a woman to teach, nor to usurp authority over the man, but to be in silence. For Adam was first formed, then Eve. And Adam was not deceived, but the woman being deceived was in the transgression. Notwithstanding she shall be saved in childbearing.

Brother, the pictures you supplied showed how quickly those jorts/cut-offs can go wrong. Women SHOULD NOT wear them, where did they get the pants to make them from in the first place? and with men it should be below the butt-cheeks, that man was probably a male prostitute.
But it is a cost saving measure that helps extend the life of a boys pair of jeans.

I've had the thought that, in Freehold, we should have people employed who just go around with sticks and tap every exposed adult knee. I think folks would get the idea.
But, that is far to controversial and I would not say it in public. Still, the morals implied in what people wear today is just appalling. I appreciate your post that brings it up for discussion.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

I don't mind if my husband wears jorts, as long as they are properly hemmed.
Cut-offs on a man look like the wife is falling down on the job.

It's also a way for a man to advertise that he's single.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

I think ugly people should not be allowed to wear those. Actually ugly people should not even be allowed to leave the house. They are insulting God by making people look at them.
Genesis 1:26 "And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth."
Freedom means voting for Donald Trump!
To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!
James 2:10 "For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all."
