Jonathan -
09-21-2015, 02:20 AM
Hi, I'm Jonathan. I was born and raised in Michigan (and now live in southern California), where I have 2 grown daughters and 4 grandkids, one girl aged 20 and 3 boys, aged 14 in November, 16 and 19 this month.
I was born again May 18, 1963 at age 17. I've been a Baptist ever since. Unfortunately, I live in the middle of nowheresville with no church to attend, and I had to give up driving due to diabetes, failing eyesight and lack of money.
I was a member of several online Christian forums years ago but gave up on all of them due to the bickering, name calling, and non Christians allowed to join and criticize our beliefs.
God blessed me with a better than average singing voice that I used for Him for about 40 years until sickness caused me to have to give that up. I went to Bible college (only 3 semesters), studied music, took voice lessons and directing lessons to further use my God-given talent.
I divorced my wife because of adultery and will remain single. I'm a man who sees most things in black and white--very few (if any) gray areas where sin is concerned.
I have several serious incurable illnesses that could end my life at any time, but I continue to praise the Lord and daily say, "God's will be done."

Welcome, Mr. Jonathan,
Your story moved me deeply. While it is good to keep away from nonbelievers (2 Corinthians 6:14), it is a sad thing not to be able to join a Christian congregation in worship. The atheists are nowadays everywhere, and to our chagrin, they also come here uninvited and persecute us. Eventually, it will be OK, though (Matthew 5:12).
You seem to have done reasonably well begettingwise. What are your favorite verses? I have here one to give you hope.
1 Corinthians 4:12
And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:
Yours in Christ,
Elmer
2 Kings 18:25 - Am I now come up without the LORD against this place to destroy it? The LORD said to me, Go up against this land, and destroy it.

Why -

Why is it I cannot request prayer for serious illnesses? I was told I don't have permission to do that. Why do I need permission to request prayer? I thought this was supposed to be a Christian forum. Apparently, I was wrong.

Now, now, don't get your Depends in a wad, gramps. We don't let just anyone in here. You'll be given more privileges once our senior ministry has vetted you. Pop the top on a frosty can of Ensure and relax.
Until then, perhaps you should crack open your Bible and familiarize yourself with it.
1 Corinthians 15:33 Be not deceived: evil communications corrupt good manners.
Psalm 137:9 Happy shall he be, that taketh and dasheth thy little ones against the stones.

Mr. Jonathan,
Due to the heathen swarms that come to our Forum, each new member is investigated and only after proven promising, are they given permission to start threads elsewhere apart from the Introduction section. That is how we protect our less intellectual members and all our women and children from the revolting influences of atheists, cat licks, anglo chans, methodicks, etc. If you show us good manners and Scriptural maturity, you may become a member one day. It is also totally unnecessary to start a new thread every time you want to post something. This Introduction thread of yours is quite adequate at the moment.
Matthew 7:7
Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:
Yours in Christ,
Elmer

Hi Grandpa! Pearl here! LOVE the username, LOL. I it is always nice to see another ELderly person on here, especially ones Blessed with grandbabies!!!! EEEE!
I believe you tried to post in the Prayer Requests forum, however, you are unable to do that until you are a Forum Member. Just in case you are here to bash True Christians, as many try to do.
One thing I would like to ask you, is why have you not prayed to THE LORD to cure your ailments? Such as your voice, or failing vision? James 5:14-16
On top of that, I would like to ask you a personal qwwwwwwwwwTrim crusts off bread and save them for another use.
Cut bread into 1/2-inch cubes and fry in butter and oil mixture until golden brown, transfer to paper towel to dry.
Cook scrubbed, unpeeled potatoes in large pot of boiling salted water until tender, about 45 minutes.
Drain.
Cool slightly.
Peel.
Cut potatoes into large pieces.
Refrigerate until cold, about 30 minutes.
Mash potatoes with fork or run through ricer into large bowl.
Mix in salt and nutmeg.
Add 1/2 cup flour and cornstarch.
Using hands, knead mixture in bowl until smooth dough forms, adding more flour by tablespoonfuls if dough is sticky.
Mix in egg.
Form dough into balls, using 1/4 cupful for each.
Insert bread cube into center of each dumpling; roll dumpling between palms to enclose bread cube completely and form smooth balls.
Working in batches, cook dumplings in large pot of nearly boiling salted water 10-15 minutes (or until dumplings rise to top).
Using slotted spoon, transfer dumplings to large bowl.
Keep covered with a damp kitchen towel as remaining dumplings are cooked.
You should place no more than 4-5 dumplings in your pot at any one time in order to prevent them from sticking together or touching during cooking, which will cause them to fall apart.uestion. What sort of vocal STyle do you have???? I try to sing, but Franklin tells me I sound like a dying owl. LOL.
Walking with Christ,
Parl
Just a loving, saved, MARRIED HETEROSEXUAL couple sharing this account! Wwwwwwwwwwwwwwww Hi Carol, not sure why the Face book isn't typing out my letters, LOL. I hope you can see this message, none of the letters are going in the box. Maybe they are invisible? We do not really understand Computers or Technology. I will have to ask Anita about this. See you tomor

I am very familiar with the word of God. Why do you assume I'm not? I've read it through MANY times and studied much of it. Now, because of failing eyesight caused by diabetes, I just listen to CDs of the King James Bible--the ONLY version I accept. Also, I don't appreciate what I consider non-Christian remarks about my age. I'm not seeing the loving Christian attitude I expect from a Christian forum. Instead, I'm seeing sarcasm. That is not what I expected. I was in a forum called the Baptist Board where they are much more caring and loving in their comments. Sarcasm is not appreciated. Perhaps I made a mistake in joining here. Also, with age comes maturity (hopefully) and much more Godly comments.

Sheesh, you're awful cranky. Do you have the All Timers disease or something? Those All Timers tend to get crabby when the sun goes down. Nighttime is the perfect time for demons to invade the anuses of the unfaithful and cause diseases like that.

It has nothing to do with being cranky; it has to do with the non-Christian attitude I'm finding here, the sarcastic remarks that are definitely not Christian, and the subtle insinuations that I might be here to attack. So I'm out of here. Cancel my membership and forget about me. I prefer a Christian forum that actually acts Christian. Goodbye, sorry I bothered you people.

These people let the Bible define Christian. If you feel they are acting improperly, please cite Scripture specifically supporting your view.

Now, don't get testy, friend. It must be a terrible vexation to you, having to live in godless California, surrounded by flaming homosexuals, flaming forests, flaming grass and brush and all the other tribulations that the Lord sends among your wretched neighbors. This forum has proven to be a refuge for most of the few Christians living on the West Coast. We know that the Devil's people surround you, but we would still request proper decorum here on the forum. Why don't you tell us of your walk with Jesus. What revolver do you favor?
God judgeth the righteous, And God is angry with the wicked every day- Psalm 7:11
