Pray for my daughter! -
01-23-2012, 08:33 AM
Hello, my Christian friends. Tradgedy has struck my family. My daughter, Mary Andrews, and her husband, James, were in a terrible accident. She survived, but her good husband is with Jesus now.
Mary and her husband had no children, but James has a younger brother who is not married. Naturally, she followed God's word in Deuteronomy 25: 5-6 and asked him when they would marry.
He flat out refused! He said that he was not in love with her and that he was still to busy "mourning" his brother's death to seek a romantic relationship. What nonsense! This is God's word we're talking about here!
Please pray that he will see the light before my poor daughter is forced to comply with Deuteronomy 25: 9-10.
Thank you all.

So sad! Feelings are marginal in a situation like this! I am sure, this guy thinks that Deuteronomy 25: 5-6 is just some kind of metaphor or something, you do not have to mean it literally! Trust me, it can happen, I have heard this blasphemy before!
Will pray for you and you daughter!

Thank you so much, Lady Effect.
The metaphorical interpretation of God's word does seem to be becoming frightfully common. When will they learn?

When it is too late.
Luke 16:19-31:
There was a certain rich man, which was clothed in purple and fine linen, and fared sumptuously every day:
And there was a certain beggar named Lazarus, which was laid at his gate, full of sores,
And desiring to be fed with the crumbs which fell from the rich man's table: moreover the dogs came and licked his sores.
And it came to pass, that the beggar died, and was carried by the angels into Abraham's bosom: the rich man also died, and was buried;
And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.
And he cried and said, Father Abraham, have mercy on me, and send Lazarus, that he may dip the tip of his finger in water, and cool my tongue; for I am tormented in this flame.
But Abraham said, Son, remember that thou in thy lifetime receivedst thy good things, and likewise Lazarus evil things: but now he is comforted, and thou art tormented.
And beside all this, between us and you there is a great gulf fixed: so that they which would pass from hence to you cannot; neither can they pass to us, that would come from thence.
Then he said, I pray thee therefore, father, that thou wouldest send him to my father's house:
For I have five brethren; that he may testify unto them, lest they also come into this place of torment.
Abraham saith unto him, They have Moses and the prophets; let them hear them.
And he said, Nay, father Abraham: but if one went unto them from the dead, they will repent.
And he said unto him, If they hear not Moses and the prophets, neither will they be persuaded, though one rose from the dead. I will keep your poor daughter in my prayers.
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Oh, never, Ladies, never! Have you ever heard of hermeneutics? This is a so called 'science' (Lord, have mercy!) theory and it is all about different interpretations of the Bible!
See? These folks are already on their way to Hell, I'm telling you!

What this thread needs is a man's perspective.
Don't get me wrong, you ladies are indeed right. Your husbands trained you well. I'm quite impressed with their hard work. They are the ones who deserve the praise.
Now, I think I know whom you are talking about. James's younger brother, John, right? Bronze tither, drives the Ford 350 diesel, always first in line at the donuts after church, right? Anyways, how about me and the boys have a chat with him sometime. We can crush any opposing arguments and put his fearfulness in a vice....if you know what I mean. It would be a damn shame for a man to turn his back on God. God will not be mocked (Gal. 6:7) and accidents happen to those that do so....things like car accidents or thieves stealing money from his bank account to even getting landed in prison over child pornography charges.
Let's just say with a little prayer...and a little persuasion...this situation should resolve itself in a matter of time.
Thank GOD for that: Psalm 91:15 "He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him."

Oh would you? My daughter and I would be ever so grateful! I'm sure he'll see reason if you explain the situation to him.
Thank you so much.

Oh my! How awful! These heathens trying to "interpret" the Bible really get my goat. It's God's word! It doesn't need to be "interpreted!" It needs to be followed!

Your daughter will be in my prayers as will her bigot brother in law.
When Jesus comes to raise the dead during the rapture she will once again be reunited with her husband!

I believe you may be mistaken. The old ladies who sit in church hoping to be reunited with their dead husbands one day are sadly wrong. Maybe they should read the Bible rather than listen to the liars who preach in most churches.
Matthew 22:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, Ye do err, not knowing the scriptures, nor the power of God. 30For in the resurrection they neither marry, nor are given in marriage, but are as the angels of God in heaven.

Genesis 22:2 And he said, Take now thy son, thine only son Isaac, whom thou lovest, and get thee into the land of Moriah; and offer him there for a burnt offering upon one of the mountains which I will tell thee of.
I know God wouldn't let me believe in Him if He didn't exist.

The Church brothers have spoken to him. The wedding's in May. We just have to wait for his unfortunate and completely unrelated injuries to heal.

I am so sorry for your daughter's loss. The best advice I can give is that pray that the young man will listen to your daughter and that he will come to love her.
God bless

Love?
Levirate marriage has nothing to do with love. It is the brother's duty, under God's Law, to marry her and raise up seed to his deceased brother's name. The children will be his brother's descendants, not his own.
