If I had been raised in a cult like you, I'd be paranoid too. But fear not, dear. The LORD is trustworthy (Psalm 19:7), and we can see evidence of His trustworthiness all around us (Psalm 19:1). Your problem isn't with knowing how we can trust the LORD, your problem is with selfishness. Read your posts again and you'll see just how self-centered they are. How can YOU know about God, how can YOU be assured the Bible is right, how can YOU be so sure Jesus loves you? Because God promised to preserve His words forever:

[Psalm 12:6-7 KJV] 6 The words of the LORD [are] pure words: [as] silver tried in a furnace of earth, purified seven times. 7 Thou shalt keep them, O LORD, thou shalt preserve them from this generation for ever.

[Isaiah 40:8 KJV] 8 The grass withereth, the flower fadeth: but the word of our God shall stand for ever.

[Matthew 24:35 KJV] 35 Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.

How big a deal would it be for an omnipotent God to keep that promise?

I wasn't in a cult, but they were so serious all the time so it felt like one. I didn't follow that many traditions anyway, including communion. I just focused on prayer and hope and the Bible. Didn't work.

Let the Lord into your heart, speak to him outside of prayers, and make him your friend. The Lord will make sure that you will always get what you need. However a lot of people confuse want and need, and thus they feel they do not get the benefits they feel entitled too. The Lord answers all prayers, the answer is sometimes NO. The benefits of a Christian heart are not for this life, but for the hereafter. Eternity is a long time. Our time here is to prepare us as the Lord sees fit.

No Sir, they do not preach this in Ireland, howevr it has become a country that runs on the power of money and not human kindness. With this recession most people are spiritually, morally and monetarily bankrupt. We should pray for souls such as these. That they find the way. It is what the Lord would want.
