For a moment I thought you were going to yell out "This is Sparta" as you drop kicked someone down into a bottomless pit - like in the movie 300.
But to comment on your post, I hope to never see that side, or rather be the recipient of His Wrath.... But I am sure there are going to be some Saints that praise Him when He does!!! J/k
Is it okay to post outside this thread elsewhere in the forum or am I supposed to be restricted only to introductions?

Hello -- I'd like to talk to you, and I wish that there were a way to send private messages on this forum. I can't find an option to do that.

Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Calvinist,
I should have said that I was directing my previous message to Calvinist -- that's the person I meant in my last message. Maybe we need to become friends in order to do that. Would that be okay with you?

Because I would like to run something past Calvinist that I would rather do privately. I've read some of his/her posts, and I would like his/her opinion on something that Jesus said.

There is a way for you to contact me now -- check my profile.
As to everyone else -- I'm sorry if people feel offended because I'd like a private discussion. Even Jesus had private discussions with people. I do not intend to cause offense. There are just times when you'd like to talk to someone privately.

Are you seriously comparing yourself to Jesus?
What have you got to hide, anyway?

If you really must know, my question is about something contained in Matthew chapter 7.

We have tremendously knowledgeable and Spirit-Led apologists here. What about Matthew chapter 7 found you curious?

I recommend just posting, and not making an issue with anything. If you are acting on my behalf please do not hesitate, and if you wish to bring something up that you believe is contrary to something I said, and doubt it as to its Orthodoxy, than I invite you to share it.
If you yourself are uncertain, I would suggest that you take the time to meditate on the Scripture, and ask yourself, if Scripture is contradicting Scripture in my own personal view, is it the Scripture or how I understand it? Be as willing to be edified as you are to edify.
My advice, and enjoy,
Calvinist.

All right...how would you exegete Matthew 7:1-6 and Matthew 7:15-29?
I'd still like to talk to Calvinist privately, though.

Rather straight forwardly. Scripture interprets Scripture, the Lord says what He means, and means what He says. Brother V gets into more detail HERE. After you've read that, if you still have questions, please don't hesitate to ask.

Carefully.
As to how I would exegete - I would first acknowledge an absolute inerrant infallible authority outside of myself. Is it a surprise that many do not begin with that, and have a problem with it? In order to combat perversion or inputting our own meaning into the text (esegesis), we must first acknowledge that God may command of us something we don't want to do. If we do not acknowledge this, we'll more than likely be content with our meaning instead of the author's intended meaning. In short, admit that we need help, and if left to ourselves we will die in our human unaided reason.

Agreed that acknowledging an absolute inerrant infallible authority outside of ourselves is essential to understanding any Scripture. And, yes, people are often pull out a Bible verse and interpret it their own way rather than the author's intended meaning.
I also agree that if left to ourselves, we will die in our human unaided reason.

Hmmm....thank you for that. However, some of the specific verses (or even parts of verses) that I'm wondering about were skipped over in the link you provided.
