Confucious is in Hell -
09-28-2009, 07:43 PM
Those who came here via Google will have seen that it is the birthday of Confucius.
Confucius was a smart-ass slant, much given to one-liners such as
“Never buy false teeth at a yard-sale,” and
“He who pisses in his boots doesn’t stay warm for long”
He was born about 500 years before Jesus, so he could not have been Christian yet he expressed the well-known principle, "Do not do to others what you do not want done to yourself.
He also looked nostalgically upon earlier days, and urged the Chinese, particularly those with political power, to model themselves on earlier examples. “It was better back then!” And you know, we at Landover and the Republican Party believe that too!
However, being a slant, he forgot an afterlife, and was vague about God. His thoughts are broadly unconcerned with spiritual matters often considered essential to Christianity, such as the nature of the soul; something that True Christians™ know exists.
Christianity is thus essential to get the full benefit of an afterlife from a Merciful God. Here’s something he didn’t say, “It is better with Jesus.”
This is an extract form the Wiki article and agrees with Landover
Quote:
Although Confucianism is often followed in a religious manner by the Chinese, arguments continue over whether it is a religion. Confucianism lacks an afterlife, its texts express complex and ambivalent views concerning deities, and it is relatively unconcerned with some spiritual matters often considered essential to religious thought, such as the nature of the soul.
|
So the message is, “Confucius says, ‘I wish I’d believed in Jesus’ for he is being burned in hell on a daily basis.”

Amen, Pastor Bathfire.
Just goes to prove the old axiom, "The road to hell is paved with good intentions." There are billions and billions of "good people" burning in the lake of fire.
Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

I'm puzzled, if he was around before Jesus, he would have had no knowledge of his coming right? So how can you believe in something/a person that hasn't happened/existed yet? (existed is the wrong word but I mean exist as in mortally walk this earth.) If someone can explain that to me I will be very grateful. Thank you.

If God wants someone to be saved, He will arrange for that person to be saved:
John 6:37: All that the Father giveth me shall come to me; and him that cometh to me I will in no wise cast out.
It follows that if there's no way for a person to hear the saving truth, that person must have been predestined for damnation.

You do understand that God existed at the time of Confucious, don't you? Willful disregard of the Lord and His laws is no excuse.
May you be a blessing to every life you touch.

If Confucious lived his life as a good and decent man there is every chance he would be in Heaven with our Lord and Saviour. It is all about how we act and not how we talk regarding our personal commitments and in his case the written word of God as we know it had not made its way to that part of the world but that does not mean a person could not have been filled with the spirit of our Father who art in Heaven... he may just not have known the how and why as we do.
The final decision on these matters rests not with a jury of moonshine maniacs swapping burned out F150 engines while ogling their progeny with mal intent... it is a decision from above that mere mortals have no say in.
Bless you, my depraved denizens of dough-headistan,

So your're saying that heathens such as Confusedius might well be in Heaven, but another death-cookie-muncher recently said that we True Christians™ have practically zero likelihood of being saved. That just shows how messed up the Catholic view of salvation is.

With the kind of close-minded and hateful attitudes prevalent throughout the back forty of America's ignorance called Iowa I would say the above is most likely.

I am aware that God existed before and after the time of Confucious but the opening post said he was burning in hell for not believing in Jesus. I was just puzzled about how can he believe in someone who has not mortally existed? And thus be destined to hell for it? If he believed in God and obeyed His laws exactly as it is written would he have still gone to hell, considering he was around before Jesus?

First have a look HERE to see who might have gone to heaven but did not.
Then consider,
Joh:14:6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
OK? All confusion and ignorance dispelled?

"Father" Lester, the good people of small-town middle America are the backbone of this country. They brave tornadoes to put food on our tables. They still believe in duty and honor and patriotism and low taxes and the sanctity of the American family, just as Jesus did. You, sir, are just an anti-midwestern bigot, and we don't tolerate bigotry at the Landover Baptist Church.
If you keep that kind of talk up, you might just find yourself in quarantine.

Nice job editing what I said, Mo. I see that you're as honest about quoting my words as you Romanists are about quoting God's Word.

You have to give it to Confucius, he had quite a wild sense of humor... So wild that I quite frankly cannot understand in the least bit. Maybe he was saying these things due to the influence of drink? Jesus doesn't like drunkards... This being said, this Confucius deserves a seat in hell.

You should take a look at my introductory topic if you are interested in knowing a bit more.
Christians are sinless.
Romans 5:14
Death reigned from Adam to Moses, even over them that had not sinned.
1 John 3:6
Whosoever abideth in him sinneth not.
1 John 3:9
Whosoever is born of God doth not commit sin; for his seed remaineth in him: and he cannot sin, because he is born of God.
1 John 5:18
We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not.
3 John 11
He that doeth good is of God: but he that doeth evil hath not seen God.
