Despite being a Godless mudslime, Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah gets it right with God on the Gay Question. Brunei should serve as a role model for America.

It Will Soon Be Legal to Stone Gay People to Death in This Country

It just became harder to be female or gay in Brunei.

The first East Asian country to adopt sharia law, Brunei will be introducing its Islamic legal system in three phases. As of May 1, failure to attend Friday prayer services and pregnancy outside of marriage could result in fines or imprisonment. The second phase, to be implemented next year, will see theft punishable by amputation. By 2015 crimes such as blasphemy, adultery and consensual homosexual sex will warrant the death penalty by stoning.

Sultan Hassanal Bolkiah, the nation's absolute monarch, first proposed sharia law in the 1990s, and has called Islam a "firewall" against globalization, rising crime and modern influences like the Internet.

Brunei, which shares the island of Borneo with Malaysia and Indonesia, already followed stricter Islam-inspired laws than its neighbors, banning the sale of alcohol and restricting the practice of other religions. Around 70% of its 412,000-strong population are Malay Muslims, but even non-Muslim Bruneians (who are mostly of Chinese descent) will be subject to the sharia code.

The UN criticized the move, saying the punishments constitute torture and are therefore illegal in the eyes of international law. The UN's spokesman for the high commissioner for human rights pointed to several studies that show that women are more likely to suffer at the hands of sharia law, due to deep-seated discrimination and stereotyping in the justice system.

Although cases under the new sharia law will require an extremely high burden of proof and judges have been urged to act with discretion, criminalizing homosexuality and limiting female autonomy have a chilling effect and create an environment that negates human rights and inhibits personal freedom. This chilling effect is clear in other countries where homosexuality has recently been criminalized, such as Uganda. That country's strict anti-gay laws has already led to instances of anti-gay bigotry, including the public outing of reported members of the LGBT community by Ugandan tabloids.

In Brunei specifically, the changes "may open the floodgates for further human rights violations against women, children and other people on the basis of sexual orientation and gender identity," the Asia Pacific Coalition on Male Sexual Health and Islands of Southeast Asian Network on Male and Transgender Sexual Health said in a statement.

They added that the sharia penal code "significantly impacts the lives and sexual health of its citizens most vulnerable to HIV: men who have sex with men, transgender people and young people from key populations. Under this light, penalties directed to sexual relations between two consenting adults impede rights to health, privacy, confidentiality and equality before civil law."

Several countries have been adopting more progressive attitudes toward the LGBT community in recent years, decriminalizing homosexuality and legalizing same-sex marriage. Yet other nations are taking steps in the opposite direction: In February, Uganda passed a bill that makes "aggravated homosexuality" punishable with life imprisonment, just weeks after India's Supreme Court overturned a lower-court ruling, reinstating a ban on gay sex, punishable by up to 10 years in jail.

Previously the maximum punishment in Brunei for gay activity wasa 10-year prison sentence. Homosexuality is illegal in around 80 countries, and Brunei now joins a handful of countries (spread across the Middle East and West Africa) where consensual gay sex — living openly, comfortably and naturally — could cost you your life.

News of the legal changes in Brunei has so far been met with outrage and dismay by activists around the world, including in the U.S. In Los Angeles, activists have banded together to boycott the landmark Beverly Hills Hotel, after it was revealed that the famous spot was owned by a development company controlled by the Sultan of Brunei, Hassanal Bolkiah. Even influential television host Ellen Degeneres has lent her support to the boycott, notifying her social media followers that she will be staying elsewhere for the time being.

There's no telling what these Chinamen are up to. It would appear on the surface that these people are trying to get closer to God, but I am very suspicious. I am sure they have their own agenda and I am equally sure they care not a whit for God's will.

Remember that the Lord has been sending great waves and earthquakes among them for some time now, to say nothing of the occasional volcano or cyclone. God hates these people and they hate Him right back.

Hollywood stars boycott Beverly Hills Hotel over Brunei’s new laws

Nine events have been pulled from the high-end hotel after Sharia law took effect in the Asian country.


Nine entertainment industry-related events have been pulled from the Beverly Hills Hotel and the Hotel Bel-Air, both owned by the Brunei Investment Agency, in protest over the sultanate’s enactment of Islamic criminal law.

The bookings at the Southern California properties, part of the Dorchester Collection of luxury hotels, were each expected to draw at least 150 people, and three similar events at properties in Europe also were withdrawn, according to Dorchester Chief Executive Officer Christopher Cowdray.

Islamic criminal law took effect in Brunei last week, and the penal code eventually will include death by stoning for rape, adultery and sodomy. The United Nations has criticized the code, saying it contains provisions that violate the rights to freedom of religion, opinion and expression. The Motion Picture & Television Fund may move its Night Before the Oscars fund-raiser from the Beverly Hills Hotel next year if the law isn’t changed, according to Andy Gelb, a fund spokesman.

“We cannot condone or tolerate these harsh and repressive laws and as a result support a business owned by the Sultan of Brunei or a Brunei sovereign fund associated with the government of Brunei,” fund Chairman Bob Pisano, Vice Chairman Mark Fleischer and CEO Bob Beitcher said in a statement.

Among the events moved from the Beverly Hills Hotel was the Feminist Majority Foundation’s Global Women’s Rights Awards, scheduled for last night. Former “Tonight Show” host Jay Leno and his wife, Mavis, are co-chairmen of the awards.

The new Brunei penal code includes the stoning to death of gay men and lesbians, and the public flogging of women who have abortions.

The Beverly Hills Hotel and the Hotel Bel-Air, 3 miles to the west, are the Dorchester Collection’s only U.S. properties. The chain also includes such properties as the Hotel Athenee Paris and the Dorchester in London.

“We have a truly global economy today,” Cowdray said in an interview yesterday at the Beverly Hills Hotel. “Look at all the foreign investments in hotels and real estate. Our hotels are autonomously run and in that way not tied to Brunei. Religious or political views have no place in our organization.”

Dorchester Collection executives are talking to media and industry leaders, and its employees have volunteered to be part of a video portraying the hotels’ integrity that will be posted on the company’s website, Cowdray said. Dorchester also is monitoring and responding to Twitter messages.

Among those who have posted on the social media website about the issue are Virgin Group Ltd. founder Richard Branson, who said employees and family members wouldn’t stay at Dorchester hotels until “the Sultan abides by basic human rights,” and talk-show host Ellen DeGeneres, who last month tweeted, “I won’t be visiting the Hotel Bel-Air or the Beverly Hills Hotel until this is resolved.”

Cowdray said he expects the two Dorchester hotels in the Los Angeles area to maintain their average annual occupancy of 80%. Nightly rates start at $450 at the Beverly Hills Hotel and $495 at the Hotel Bel-Air this week, according to their websites.

Cowdray said he doesn’t expect the Dorchester Collection to have any problems adding a property in New York because of the controversy. The company owned the New York Palace Hotel before selling it to Northwood Investors LLC in May 2011 and is seeking a new hotel in the city, according to Cowdray.

“I’ve never experienced anything like this,” he said. “It’s unprecedented in great part because of the social media aspect.”

I'm quite sure that this groundbreaking decision in law making has something to do with Pastor Zeke's frequent visits to Brunei and his personal meetings with Sultan Hassan Bolkiah.

I will also make sure to sleep at Beverly Hills Hotel the next time I'm protesting against the queers in California. I normally avoid anything owned by the other races and the mudslimes, but this time I'll make an exception to that.
