Hi Everyone,

I would love some answers from those who are really well schooled in the Holy Bible, but I would be glad to hear from anyone that has an opinion. My question is: What are people held to account for on Judgement Day?

It seems that no matter what one did, as long as they humbly asked God for forgiveness and accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior, they get into Heaven. In God's eyes all sins are equal, no sinner is better than any other sinner, so as long as one truly asks for forgiveness, they are forgiven. So why bother with Judgement Day if everyone that asked for forgiveness has been forgiven?

Here's why I ask. My Father came from a very religious upbringing. His father dies chasing after his oldest runaway daughter, that no longer wants to have sex with him. Turns out my grandfather took the virginity of both of his daughters,my aunts, and has sex with them on a regular basis until he died chasing after her.

In 1964 my father was arrested for raping a 5 year old girl that lived in the house behind ours. He was acquitted, but only because both of my sisters and my mother lied about what happened. My sister told me that he raped this little girl right in front of them and that the girl was screaming her head off. She says there is no way my mother did not hear that. Not to mention it's New Years Eve, late at night and her husband was in the girls bedroom with the neighbor girl. But my mom threatened my sisters and they lied about what happened and my dad got away with it.

Well it turned out that my dad was having sex with my sisters too. My oldest sister has no memory of being a virgin. Her first memory is of my dad raping her on his workbench in the garage when she was three years old. My dad took the virginity of all four of my sisters and has sex with all of them many many times. Eventually my dad was prosecuted in minimal charges and got time served, which was four months, forced counseling, five years probation and a permanent registry with the sex offenders bunch. As a condition of probation he was not permitted to deny his crimes, but the day his probation ended, he went back to denying raping them, even though he had already admitted doing it.

When my dad went to jail in 1964 for raping a little girl, he suddenly found god. But a few years later after moving to another state, he lost his faith. He used to say things like "The Devil made me to it, but the lord forgave me", in a mocking way about what he called "fake Christians", which according to him was pretty much all but a very few true believers. He said "The Christians are dying to forgive you".

However, when he went to jail and my mother divorced him to get custody of my little sister back, he suddenly found god again. April Fool's Day 2001 my dad died bladder cancer. He refused treatment, I believe, so to make sure he could ask for forgiveness right before the end. I believe this was always his plan. Live as bad and sinful life as one wants, then simply ask for forgiveness right at the end and basically get away with it.

So my oldest brother calls me up in 2006 to tell me that he had been saved. This was odd because we had not spoken in years. He used to work for me but after tendering his two week notice and then not actually leaving, he then forced me to fire him thinking he could draw unemployment that way. The falling out was not expected and seemed to come out of nowhere. He was very hostile, refused to return company property until I was forced to call the police. I never understood where this anger came from and we never discussed it. He has told people many unkind things about me that were not true in an attempt to harm my reputation. It made no sense to me.

Until recently, that is. I found out that my brother had been raping my oldest son over a three year period, whenever he spent the night at my brothers house. We had sons the same age. My oldest brother is a biker and lived the biker life. Lots of drinking, drugs, sex and Harley Davidsons. My son is very afraid that he'll come after him or his kids if he tells anyone and presses charges. He made me swear not to do anything for a year while he gets some counseling.

Now my oldest brother is playing the "God forgave me" card. I don't see how God forgives people who never fess up and ask for their victims to forgive them or face the prison time. But according to my other brother who also is saved, my oldest brother need not come clean to anyone but God, and that is good enough.

Now, everything I can find about Judgement day, it seems that the only thing anyone actually gets judged on, that can keep them out of heaven, is not accepting Jesus Christ as one's personal Savior. It seems that there is no other consequences on Judgement day as long as one has asked to be forgiven.

Well, I told my oldest brother that I could never accept a religion where my dad and himself gets into heaven, but I don't. So? Any insights anyone might have into this dilemma would be appreciated. Thanks in advance.

It seems like your father and brother only claimed to have found God, but were lying about it. Relax, they will not be in Heaven, but are doomed to the eternal fires of Hell.
What type of Christian do they/did they claim to be? Sounds like Catlicks to me.

Not so fast, friend. If indeed the father truly repented, and God would know if it was a genuine repentance and acceptance of His Son (Proverbs 21:2), then Elizabeth's father is right this minute praising Jesus with other famous repenters such as Jeffry Dahmer! All to the Glory of God! And we KNOW this because God Himself assures us (2 Timothy 3:16)!

Elizabeth, you must understand the God doesn't care one whit about our emotions (Matthew 21:28-32), after all, there is nothing more deceptive and untrustworthy in the whole wide world than a man's own reasoning (Jeremiah 17:9). Instead, True Christians™ rely on the Word of God, the ultimate in Moral Guidance (Proverbs 9:10). This guide tells us that God doesn't care how long one has been a believer, the same rewards come to those who believe (Matthew 20:1-16)! What happens here on earth in this life is but a drop in comparison to the infinite ocean of eternity! Why do you think we work so tirelessly for political legislation to reflect these theological Truths?!? Why, it's so more people can be like your father and turn to Jesus before it's too late!

If I were you, I'd stop thinking about myself, and start thinking about what God wants. Then you could repent of your sin of thinking logically about things that inherently defy logic, which could only lead to doubt and rejection of faith, and you too could join your father and the rest of us in Praising Jesus and laughing at the sinners in Hell (Psalm 2:4)!

The OP was too long winded for me. If you're going to write something that wordy, at least provide scripture breaks, relevant Republican politics, or Creation Science to keep us interested.

That said, I managed to get something about daddy having sex with girls before I nodded off. So what exactly is the problem? Are you jealous that daddy wasn't interested in you because you were too ugly, or have you decided to worship Satan as a feminist and made the entire story up in order to slander your parents and siblings?

You CAN get to heaven if you accept Jesus's temporary death as a sacrifice for YOUR sins (and I am sure there are some). From the tone of your post and your statements about rejecting the very premise of Christianity, it certainly appears to me that you are destined to go to hell and your grandfather, father and brother are right at this moment enjoying God's grace in heaven at the right hand of Jesus.

Your father did the right thing in refusing treatment and allowing Jesus to kill him. Your assumption that your father raping little children is irrelevant is correct. Jesus doesn't mind things like rape and murder as long as you are sincere when you beg for forgiveness. Almost all sins can be forgiven. The only exception is the biggest sin of them all. Saying bad things about the Holy Ghost is not allowed and will never be forgiven. (Matthew 12:32, Mark 3:29)

Thanks for all the replies. It was consistent with what I expected, although no one actually answered the question. As a non-believer I often challenge people who claim to be atheist or agnostic to say "F*ck G*D" or "F*ck Jes*s" and/or "F*ck The Holy Ghost". I say it to show them how. It's amazing how many people who claim to be non-believers, but won't say it.

If you want to know where God is? He is in Prison. Everyone there seems to find him. It seems the worse a person is the more likely he is to find god when caught or when one starts facing death. So as it turns out, Heaven is going to be filled with scumbag child rapists, murderers, and all the worst this life has to offer. I think I'll pass on that.

I like my belief system better. It says that once I am dead, I won't even know I am dead. I find that very comforting and it makes me not fear death, which allows me to live my life in the moment. And of course the moment is all there is.

That's a depressing belief. Why would you even choose to believe that? In answer to your question, believers are judged at the Judgment Seat of Christ (Romans 14:10-12). Here we will give an account of ourselves, and the Lord will judge the decisions he made, the thoughts we had, the feelings in our hearts. Fortunately for us, it will be a rather pleasant experience, for in faith we are Saved (Ephesians 2:8-9), that is to say we will be found righteous and worthy to enter Heaven (Revelation 21:27). Those sins that were committed before Salvation will have been completely forgotten by the LORD (Isaiah 43:25), and I for one see no reason to burden Him with such unpleasant memories. Because True Christians™ are Born Again by the uncorruptible seed of the Spirit (1 Peter 1:23), we are impervious to sin (1 John 3:9). We shall have no marks against us. Our experience at the Judgment Seat of Christ will be rather like the line outside a Heavenly and Eternal Studio 54. We shall be filled with anticipation and great cheer!

People like you, however, will experience explaining your each and every sin ever committed. Best of luck finding excuses! When The Book of Life shows no evidence of your name written therein, you shall be tossed into the Lake of Fire (Revelation 20:15). I don't much expect you'll enjoy your journey to HELL, so yuk it up while you can.

That is a very comforting thought. And I would find it comforting if I could believe that Hillary Clinton was about to stop yapping and come round my house and cook me dinner, but sadly what's comforting is not necessarily what's true. And the Truth is that Hillary Clinton is not going to stop yapping any time soon, and that you're going to the Lake of Fire when you die, and the moment when you arrive there will turn out to be a very long moment indeed. Maybe you could take a few tips from your big brother about how to get right with God before it's too late?
