Do you think Jesus runs on Prayer and Praise like humans run on Protein? -
09-30-2018, 06:30 PM
I know it sounds silly, but please don't judge me. This is a question I had in a dream last night and it's been on my mind ever since. The way I see it in my mind is that Jesus thrives on prayer, it gives Him strength the way eating good protein like steak and lamb chops give us strength. When I was depleted physically from my last labor (42 hours is no easy task at any age), I had to eat a lot of protein to get back up to my normal levels of energy.
We can see in countries and regions of countries where people pray to Jesus more that He is more active. For example, missionaries who pray constantly in Africa see Jesus grow back limbs and raise the dead. We don't hear much of that in California and I wonder if it's because the airspace above that region isn't very heavily concentrated with Prayer. Could that mean He just doesn't have the same power in California as He does in Ghana?
I don't think this is exactly like the problem of Tinkerbell and clapping because without belief and positive energy Tinkerbell would die. Jesus conquered Death so we know He can't die. So maybe He would just get really, really weak? I don't know but it's caused me a little bit of worry and I just can't shake it. I've been praying and making my children pray extra all day and I feel better, like Jesus is a little stronger for it.
Be gentle. I love Jesus so much!
Hello, my name is Mary. I hope to fellowship with you! That is, unless you don't listen to church authority (Deuteronomy 17:12); are a witch (Exodus 22:17); are a homosexual (Leviticus 20:13; Romans 1:24-32); or fortuneteller (Leviticus 20:27) or a snotty kid who hits their dad (Exodus 21:15); or curses their parents (Proverbs 20:20; Leviticus 20:9); an adulterer (Leviticus 20:10); a non-Christian (Exodus 22:19; Deuteronomy 13:7-12; Deuteronomy 17:2-5;Romans 1:24-32); an atheist (2 Chronicles 15:12-13); or false prophet (Zechariah 13:3); from the town of one who worships another, false god (Deuteronomy 13:13-19); were a non-virgin bride (Deuteronomy 22:20-21); or blasphemer (Leviticus 24:10-16), as God calls for your execution and will no doubt send you to Hell, and I have no interest developing a friendship with the Spiritually Walking Dead.

Thank you for providing us with that line of reasoning, Sister Mary. I have wondered myself about why Jesus sometimes does not answer prayers.
For example, I heard months ago that when Judge Kavanaugh was a teenager he tried to rape a girl. I prayed to Jesus this story would not be brought up during the Judge's conformation hearings. Now it's on the front page.
You got me to wondering if the dusty air here in Iowa during the harvest season affects communications with Jesus.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

Sister Mary, Jesus' strength is unwavering, absolute, and eternal. Jesus is NEVER weak!
Think of it this way: If I am listening to a great conservative radio program like The John Batchelor Show, on a great AM talk radio station, such as KGO 810, and I foolishly drive into a subterranean parking garage, I won't be able to hear Batchelor's illuminating political commentary, because the radio signal won't penetrate all those layers of rock and concrete.
BUT that doesn't mean KGO 810's transmitter was weakened in the least.
Quite to the contrary, that fine radio station's signal is just as strong as it's always been!
It was my decision to go underground that cut me off from that powerful signal.
You sin is like that underground parking garage.

I'm really sick and tired of some sophomoric twerp talking about "if your God is so all powerful and all knowing why did He have to rest on the seventh day after creating the Universe"? It's because it says so in the Bible (KJV1611) - and it also says that God created us in His likeness so that we may understand that we should cut God some slack - He just might have wanted to kick back, relax, and have a beer.
Sure, Jesus gets a lot of requests and complaints, but a little praise and thanks could also go a log way as well. Be thankful that we can talk directly to Jesus and that He didn't outsource His line to "Saints", "Mary" or, God forbid, some dot head Indians for His help line. Jesus might even have a "prayer mail" that He eventually gets around to checking.
Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
...and get off my lawn

Hi Mary, I believe the only time Jesus was ever weak was when he walked the earth. He was beat and crucified. Physically, I'm sure he was very weak (during the beatings and crucifixion). Mentally and emotionally, he was the strongest man to ever walk the earth, now Holy Spirit. To endure so much pain for someone he's never met is the bravest thing anyone could do. He could've had the angels come down and reveal his true self but he didn't. I feel much empathy for him when reading the bible.

I totally agree! Suffering for a day and being dead for one and a half day was an IMMENSE SACRIFICE for an eternal entity like Jesus!!!!

Yes! And let alone doing it to prove Himself that we are worthy of a second opportunity!
I mean, it was flooding the Earth genocide style saving only one couple of each animal and a handful of humans, or to send His Son who is Himself to be born poor and in an unknown tribe of goat herders and suffer temptations from the Devil and then be tortured and killed while forgiving their executioners!
One can think that He could have descended with, I don't know, an army of Angels and tell people to behave or they have to go to bed without dinner.
Or maybe He could have sent the forefathers of the Jews, to tell the ones still alive to stop sinning. I think if grandpa comes from the grave and tells you what happens after, you will obey.
But God chose the more intricate option. Why? Because He wanted to. As Donald, God can do as He pleases. Yes He can.
1 Thessalonians 4:16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the TRUMP of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first.
