I use alcohol that is distilled with only holy water. I have heard that this is the way to experience divine intervention with consumption. I don't believe in hangovers, I believe that vomiting is a medium to purge my flesh from sin. Also vomiting puts me on my knees, and that is just down right awesome for prayer, as it saves me a little time so I'm left with more time to pray & thank God for blessing me!

As I cannot return your private message Mr. Hutchins. My intent was not to confuse anyone, please forgive me for the infraction. My intent was simply sharing my worship practice as a story. My infraction was "confusing true Christians". He of strong faith shall not be confused by openly sharing of our worship practices....I would hope, if someone were confused I would like the opportunity to clarify to that person, before receiveing an infraction. I know I did not confuse you as you seem to be a man of God with very strong faith. Please excuse me for the misunderstanding. I feel this infraction is premature, howeverthat is for your judgment. I shall not judge or cast stones as I sm a man of strong unwaivering faith. If the infraction must remain, then so be it, but I assure you my intentions here are for toe gospel only, otherwise I wouldn't waste my time, ad there are many other things I could be doing. God Bless You!

@ didymis much, I have zero fetishes, for they are deeply rooted in sin.

Well, I saw you sniffing around Felicity's panties thread, and now you're talking about a "Toe Gospel", I mean, what am I supposed to think?
But it's OK, many here committed the most vile and reprehensible of deeds, prior to seeking God's forgiveness (thus transferring responsibility for their misdeeds to a conveniently invisible third party). You won't shock anyone here telling us how you just don't feel like a man unless you feel the exquisite caress of silk, looking around the boardroom and wondering who suspects you're actually wearing ladies underwear beneath that Brooks Bros.
You're among (potential) friends here, so share. It's wonderfully freeing!

Are you not familiar with the wedding feast in Cana in Galilee where Jesus turned water into wine so the guests could continue with their meal and celebration ?? (John 2:1-11) Jesus, his mother, Mary, and his followers were guests at the wedding and he blessed thw wedding party.
There are numerous other examples of wine being properly imbibed as part of jesus daily life. Who are you to question examples in the bible ??
Acts 3:24-25 "The God who made the world and everything in it is the Lord of heaven and earth and does not live in temples built by hands. And he is not served by human hands, as if he needed anything, because he himself gives all men life and breath and everything else."

My husband loves to drink, although he is a good Christian man so he keeps it in moderation. I'm proud to say that always gets a nice, cool drink within seconds of him shouting at me to "get off my lazy arse and get me another drink, wife!". He's so wonderful!

When I drink, God gives me the strength to lovingly discipline my wife double for the day. Sometimes I even feel Him guide me to provide preemptive discipline, the most loving kind.
Zechariah 13:3 And it shall come to pass, that when any shall yet prophesy, then his father and his mother that begat him shall say unto him, Thou shalt not live; for thou speakest lies in the name of the LORD: and his father and his mother that begat him shall thrust him through when he prophesieth.

I call shenanigans. I have yet to meet a Scottsman who drank in moderation.
Here is a partial list from just a few scripture verses:

Indeed: I've met quite a few scotchmen and they never restrict themselves to a solitary drop.
Now, how about staggering over to the Introduction Forum and properly introducing yourself, OK?
We want to get to know you!!!

You're either a liar or you're not a Scott, which is it?
Please make a thread of your own in the " Introductions" section of the forum, so that we can properly greet you. Tell us about yourself, your church, and how you came to find Jesus.
And if you're here to flame us, better take a look at THIS before making an even bigger ass out of yourself.

I was brought up as a Southern Baptist and we were taught that when the Bible referred to Jesus and the disciples drinking wine, it really meant unfermented grape juice. We even had unfermented grape juice at the Lord's supper.
Since then I went on to drinking beer and wine in moderation. Now I drink almost entirely nonalcoholic beer.
Penn Jillette of Penn & Teller the magicians is also an atheist and he says he has never used alchohol or drugs.

There are two possibilities.
One, the Bible refers to wine numerous times and each time it is internally contradicting itself because one minute it means wine that gets you drunk, like when Noah was so drunk Ham shamed himself by tittle tattling to his brothers about Noah's nakedness or when Lot was so drunk his harlot daughters could commit incest with him. The next it magically, without saying so, means grape juice.
Two, your pastors were lying to you so you didn't get tempted to drink because they were superimposing their own values on scripture and using your imbued fear of God to add weight to their own secular views.
I'm inclined to think your pastors were more than prepared to lie to you and twist scripture when it suited their purposes. I wonder if this is the source of your conflict with us because you seem to have picked this habit up of twisting scripture when it suits your secular desires from somewhere...

That's why I think the reference to wine is meant to be taken literally.

There may have been lying involved at some point, but I believe the preachers believed what they were saying.
The medical consensus today is that the equivalent of one or two glasses of wine a day are better for you than either drinking more or not drinking. According to that, I am at risk for not drinking enough.
Of course alcoholics cannot stop at one or two drinks and, according to literature the Southern Baptist Convention distributed, one person in sixteen who takes the first drink becomes an alcoholic, one in seven becomes a problem drinker. I didn't turn out to be the one in sixteen or the one in seven. I later learned that there is a possible genetic basis for alcoholism. Accordingly, my granddaughter, whose father is a recovered alcoholic, wisely abstains from drinking alcoholic beverages.

I don't rely on Biblical scriptures for authority of any kind. I simply call them as I see them. I point out contradictions and weird interpretations as I see them.
