Default Abuse of witches "exaggerated" in Nigeria. - 08-31-2010, 04:58 AM

I am highly disappointed that the government of Nigeria is attempting to downplay the rooting out of witches in Africa instead of making the hunting of them an official biblical policy.

Exodus 22:18 Thou shalt not suffer a witch to live.

Why is it so hard for Christians everywhere to understand this simple statement?

Quote:

Nigerian governor says abuse of child 'witches' exaggerated

A Nigerian governor said on Monday that reports of child abuse associated with witchcraft in his state are greatly exaggerated. Akwa Ibom State Gov. Godswill Akpabio spoke after CNN aired a story that found evidence of children being accused of practicing black magic. Some of the children had been beaten, burned with boiling water and showed scars that appeared to be from being cut with machetes. Other children said they were cast out of their homes.
"Like I said, it's a very, very minimal situation," said Akpabio about the incidence of witchcraft-related abuse in Akwa Ibom.
Since being elected, the governor said he has been aware of the issue and has taken steps to rectify it.
He said he signed a bill into law in 2008 that makes it a criminal offense, punishable by up to 15 years in prison, to label a child a witch.

Christians are superior because we possess an understanding that unbelievers lack. It is through the Power of Jesus only the converted mind is able to understand what is going on in the world; what the Communists are really up to; what Satan's intentions are. Most unbelievers do not even believe in Satan and cannot understand his tactics.

Well I think the governor is only saying that to appease the godless media. I know plenty of fine Christian pastors working all over Nigeria who are very well versed in driving the demons out of such children.

Interestingly, the report omits to explain the consequences of doing NOTHING. If you leave the witch untouched, it will make family and neighbors very sick, and maybe even they could die. They curse and hex those around them, bringing poverty and disease to anyone that the devil instructs.

Believe me, I have seen these child witches in Nigeria first hand, and they are thoroughly dangerous. The demons MUST be driven out using all necessary means. Sometimes ordering it out and laying on of hands will suffice, but in other cases more physical means are required. What the godless media does not understand is that it is not the child itself that suffers. Since it is possessed by a demon, it is the demon that will suffer the pain and not the child.

Unless of course, the child has voluntarily become a witch WITHOUT the influence of a demon. If there is no demon involved, it cannot be driven out. All we have is a witch, pure and simple. In this case, we have a truly wicked child and Exodus 22:18 must be applied.

It is amazing that this affliction is mostly part of Africa. Perhaps the first world is more godly? We have 99.99999% fewer witch and demon exorcisms.

What are your thoughts on this ability for Christians to go over there and feel like they are shooting fish in a barrel regarding spiritual warfare?

Why is Africa so demon infested?

I think that this statistic regarding the low number of witch and demon exorcisms is misleading. The "western world" is overrun with witches. Witches are even in high ranking government positions. Need I remind you of Nancy Pelosi? The so called "Wicca" religion continues to exist without any consequences.

The Puritans knew how to take care of witches!

Sadly, I think there is probably not much we can do about this situation until the time comes when can elect Christian Republic governments all across the 1st world. That is the kind of "Change" we need!

What? What PC nonsense is that? Rather than taking action to punish the criminals here, the government makes it a criminal offence to refer to these witches correctly! I have no doubt that this latest piece of liberal doublethink will catch on massively over here. If the radical pro-witch Nigerian government gets away with this offence against freedom, it's only a matter of time before the left here get away with making it illegal to refer to anyone as a "homosexual" or a "woman". The future looks bleak, friends.

O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

I will not be traveling to Africa any time soon. I seem to get into trouble when I am around witches.
