First, allow me to link to a site that is not quite True Christian, but is pretty close, Answers in Genesis.
https://answersingenesis.org/astrono...light-problem/
In it, Dr. Lisle convincingly points out that because God's word declares that the Earth is 6,000 years old, we know that the speed of light must be different in one direction than the other - infinite speed heading toward Earth and 1.5*10^8 m/s away from the Earth (half the speed of light, so it measures out). This is based on a principle from Einstein - an unsaved Jew who told many lies, but occasionally was right - and his theory of relativity. Now, as Conservapedia aptly states, there are many problems with the theory of relativity; however, because it confirms the Bible, we know this aspect of the theory must be true: that because all atomic clocks are based on the speed of light, one cannot measure the one-way speed of light because both clocks must be synchronized based on that speed, thus requiring a two-way distance to accurately measure time. Therefore, we can conclude the . Why does God do this? As Deuteronomy 29:29 states, "
The secret things belong unto the Lord our God."
However, AiG, while an excellent ministry when it comes to matters of the age of the Earth and evolution, has fallen into major sin concerning its stance on geocentrism. Scripture is equally clear on this: "
The sun also ariseth, and the sun goeth down, and hasteth to his place where he arose" (Ecclesiastes 1:5)
As John Calvin states,
"Who will venture to place the authority of Copernicus above that of the Holy Spirit?" If God intended to communicate that the Earth was the one revolving around the sun, then he would have used language to indicate as such. After all, the Holy Spirit promises to interpret scripture perfectly (1 Corinthians 2:6-13) - all words of scripture are words of the Holy Ghost, and every word the Holy Ghost teaches is true. If True Christians before the age of science never interpreted this verse to mean heliocentrism, then that makes God a liar.
Fortunately, there is a solution: because the speed of light is different away from Earth compared to toward Earth, we can infer that this differential speed of light also applies in fields of mosion that are orthogonal to Earth. Imagine lines perpendicular to the surface of the Earth. We know that the speed of light on those lines is infinite toward Earth and c/2 away from it. We can make similar deductions for the sun. Light from the sun and away from it (along a horizontal path perpendicular to the Earth) also must travel at a different speeds in both directions, which in due time will create appearances of movement apart from simply rising and falling. This "sliding" factor concerning the parts of the sun not visible from the Earth clearly will create through the differential is what caused sinners Galileo and Copernicus attributed to heliocentrism.
Now the question is, why did God calibrate different speeds of light in different directions to create the appearance so that people will think that heliocentrism is true? The answer is simple: 2 Thessalonians 2:11 says God will send people a delusion so they will believe the lie. Why? Because they weren't true Christians and were wicked people, so they deserved it.
I hope this edified y'all, and have a blessed day.
