A group of priests and nuns has always claimed they were in Afghanistan to save souls for Jesus. But now when the Muslims are taking over, and the fight is just beginning, they are jumping on the first planes they can find and leaving.
This is so typical of Catholics, the fair weather branch that calls itself Christian. Those priests and nuns should stand and fight. Don't they know Jesus was a martyr for our sins?
When Landover Baptist first came to Iowa centuries ago, its founders did not get discouraged at criticism and high tail it out of town at the first opportunity. They fought on and stayed here to this day. Even these days we have regular accusations about why we are here but we don't back down.
I hope our government does not get all teary eyed and sympathetic about these Catholics trying to jump ship.
