Once the French get involved, anything can happen. This latest schism, which blossomed in Switzerland, derives from a so-called heresy cooked up in France as I've highlighted. Exactly which gabbling language is used for a mass doesn't matter to me, any more than which microtonal system is used for warbling elsewhere. Envious, perhaps, the francophone world has now come up with Angine de Poitrine, just in case Dadaist schismatics are looking for a devotional repertoire. Well, here's one ready made! As I say, once the French get involved, anything can happen.

Mass in French. Mass in Latin. Neither God now anyone else knows what is being said. Maybe priests are talking to each other and not saying Mass at all. Maybe they are discussing which priests gets which alter boy.Originally posted by MitzaLizalor View PostThis latest schism, which blossomed in Switzerland, derives from a so-called heresy cooked up in France as I've highlighted. No. I certainly can't imagine Jesus being overly fond of Latin.
John 19:1-3 Pilate therefore took Jesus, and scourged him. And the soldiers platted a crown of thorns, and put it on his head, and they put on him a purple robe, and said, Hail, King of the Jews! and they smote him with their hands.
When soldiers were doing the scourging, the crowning with thorns, the mocking in general and smiting with their hands, Latin is the language they'd be speaking because they were Romans. So was Pilate. These memories would be etched into Jesus's mind as though of diamond (having been etched with a fluorine jet, as it were) and they would all be in Latin.I couldn't find fluorine etching diamond so fluorine on a brick will have to do. In the analogy, Jesus is the brick and fluorine is the Latin language. Now if Caesar employed Asiatic mercenaries, or the soldiers were oriental aficionados, perhaps they'd be talking Chinese – at least to one another. Similarly, when dealing with the Hellenistic world (or what was left of it) Pilate may well have used Greek but here, on active duty in a Roman court, it's going to be Latin – and certainly during recreational smitings the merry banter as they walloped Jesus would be their own language and Jesus was conscious throughout.
Satan uses Latin in his special congregation for precisely that reason, even though our record of the events used a completely different language. No wonder they didn't want anybody reading it! (Except themselves, obviously, so they could do the opposite and dress it up as "truth.")
John 18:38a Pilate saith unto him, What is truth?
