  • We Need Less News About Ukraine, More About Jesus

I don't know about where you live, but here in Freehold the national news is all about Ukraine. It's the Ukrainian army did this, the Russian army did that, piles of bodies, burned up tanks, blah, blah blah.

Why isn't the news media covering Jesus? To get news about Jesus you have to visit several sites like Christian Post. There is news about Jesus every day.

Just to sample some stories from recent weeks, a picture of Jesus appeared in a broken window, a man was dead for a short time and talked to Jesus, experts say Jesus will return soon, other experts know which SUV Jesus would drive, people hear from Jesus in dreams, crowds of weeping people view the Shroud of Turin and so many more.

These are news stories people need to hear.
Isaiah 24:1-3 Behold, the LORD maketh the earth empty (2)...as the taker of usury, so with the giver of usury to him. (3) The land shall be utterly emptied, and utterly spoiled: for the LORD hath spoken his word.

The last generation is still alive. Having seen the miraculous return of Israel and knowing how many creatures Jesus will destroy, not to mention dead men ruined at His command to the third angel, surely it's a distraction to focus on once-future history now becoming current affairs — because Christians already know that. It was recorded as future history exactly for this purpose! Simply because it seemed future to us didn't mean it hadn't already happened, or would happen now in the present.

All these recorded events have taken place in the future just as surely as King Tut had a gold mask 33 hundred years ago.
Revelation 8:8-11 And the second angel sounded, and as it were a great mountain burning with fire was cast into the sea: and the third part of the sea became blood; and the third part of the creatures which were in the sea, and had life, died; and the third part of the ships were destroyed. And the third angel sounded, and there fell a great star from heaven, burning as it were a lamp, and it fell upon the third part of the rivers, and upon the fountains of waters; and the name of the star is called Wormwood: and the third part of the waters became wormwood; and many men died of the waters, because they were made bitter.

Thank you for that news about Jesus, Sister Mitza. Why is this not on front pages? Or, the lead story of CNN? Jesus is moving about, putting things in place for the end times.

There are many talking heads on TV this very minute talking about when the Ukrainian war will end, what that country and Russia will be like, blah blah. These are insignificant stories about this brief time in contemporary history. We need important people talking about important events, pundits who are watching for hints of the timing of Jesus' return.

It's censorship, Mr. Mayor. We are not allowed to talk about Jesus any more. We are not allowed to ask simple questions such as "Why shouldn't I root for Russia, which I am?". If you don't say that in Russia, they'll put you in jail. Russians encouraged to speak their mind and we are silenced? Socialist oppression - yet another question we're forbidden to ask.
If I have seen further, it is by standing on the heads of others.

I'm glad you mentioned socialism. Sometimes it's said [by whom?]

(by me) that maybe a socialist administration could work IF everyone agreed that's how they wanted to do things. For example Iceland has a left-leaning Prime Minister heading up a Progressive/Social-Democrat/Pirate coalition given the nod from a widely popular Head-of-State under which circumstances, when the going gets tough, the population will get out and push. Because that's how they decided to do things. Norway has a similar arrangement – but the great big elephant in this particular room is the preexisting economy. However its proceeds are disbursed, by whatever consensus is arrived at, it needs to be sustained. If not it will die. And who wants to be in a room with a decomposing elephant? Many socialistic communistic atheistic regimes have neither consensus nor sustenance. Once the little is shared out among les grands fromages, there's even less to be shared with the masses. Pillaging abject satellites is well up on the agenda but again any proceeds are frozen onto by stagnant hierarchies with the riff-raff left to starve.

          ALL ANIMALS ARE EQUAL

BUT SOME ANIMALS ARE MORE EQUAL THAN OTHERS

Commie blowhards (or any other blackguardly types) have demonstrated over and over again that they CANNOT generate a revenue stream. All they can do is milk what already exists. Jesus is nothing like that. It's true that The Disciples agreed on a common purse [when?] (from 30 AD see also ACTS 4:32)

Acts 2:41-46 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. And they continued stedfastly in the apostles' doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. And fear came upon every soul: and many wonders and signs were done by the apostles. And all that believed were together, and had all things common; and sold their possessions and goods, and parted them to all men, as every man had need. And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart

This common basket was not an "out only" affair. It rested on a sound financial base comprising a fully staffed fishing fleet, a plurality of tentmakers and at least one public employee to name but three. The need for solid fiscal policy is exemplified when the "out only" baskets run dry (or when blackguards kill the milch cow) and a new mooching agenda kicks off. But it's not new really, is it. So I'm glad you mentioned socialism: the real news here is Jesus: only through Him can true prosperity be assured, not only in this world but in the world to come.

Here is an example. On Christian Post today is a huge story about a Christian family in Alaska. They are planning a reality series about going into the boondocks, building a gold mine and finding gold. They are "depending on Jesus" to find gold and get viewers.

Go to the New York Times today and there is no mention of this news. Just more anti Putin garbage.

Re: We Need Less News About Ukraine, More About Jesus

Would America even be a Christian Nation today if pagan regimes had not been overcome centuries ago? How would that happen without military intervention? Jesus said that HE would build His Church and when He was in the world He started that project, even though surrounded by pagans, disbelievers, heretics and heathens on all sides. Jesus could walk through the storm unharmed but after He ascended into Heaven, where He was seen by multiple eyewitnesses when the sky opened up momentarily allowing a glimpse of what's on the other side—enabling us to determine the truth of this historical account—but Jesus also explained what The Disciples needed to do next.

Luke 22:36b and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Jesus went on to say that He would be thought of as a transgressor but the central point remains spelled out very plainly:
              Code:
              1. Jesus will build the Church
              2. He will ascend into Heaven
              2a. and was actually seen
              2a(i) doing so
2a(ii) seated there after He arrived
              3. The Disciples will remain down here
              4. The Holy Spirit will work through them
              5. They will need weapons
You know I've even been told that they were not weapons of war. “What,” I thought to myself? “Were they going to be put up like wall plaques,” for example like this?

Nothing could be more ridiculous. Jesus, however, is not ridiculous and His words are recorded as historical events so it's easy to see what was being suggested. In fact it's a bit more than a suggestion and History did not stop there as (despite the onslaught of charlatans and crooks) Christianity spread across Europe. I mentioned "crooks" as an aside. There's still plenty of those around, aren't there? And charlatans, heretics, pagans, disbelievers, heathens, savages etc., together with idiotic modern inventions such as the wiccan, the goth, the EMO and so on. And yet a Christian Nation emerged just as Jesus knew it would and today we see affirmed exactly what that process involved. He suffered so much so that we could be free.

For me now, personally speaking, it's gone on too long. At first it was exciting to wonder if this was end times, what with the accompanying plagues and nuclear threats. Enough already. I want to know if this is End Times, yes or no, no bullshit. There've been too many false dawns.

The Bible says we will live in perilous times. Those brutes, the Ukrainians, blew up a Russian ship. That seems to me to be perilous times. The end has to be near.

As we see God's Majestic Plan™ unfold, and let's face it the universe is a pretty majestic place but He loves us so much, there's an easy rule of thumb. Who is implementing the methods ordained by Christ and who is resisting them? Which legislative body aligns with His will and, secondly & much easier to determine, which do not?

I say easier to determine, in the just-read-their-laws sense, because direct contraventions are black and white. For example if someone passed a law requiring idols to be set up, it flat-out contradicts what God (who is Jesus) already said. What happens next, offering milk to the thing or prostration on the floor in its vicinity or depositing money in a box for the idol to use, is immaterial because God prohibits making such objects in the first place.
John 6:2 And a great multitude followed him, because they saw his miracles which he did on them that were diseased.

In that example, though, emulating Christ—a primary characteristic of Christians—is less precisely specified. There would be many ways to benefit diseased wretches depending on their condition. Providing a scabrous alcoholic with gin doesn't seem miraculous to me whereas healing a leper whose foot had dropped off because he didn't trust in God, making him whole again is clearly miraculous. And provided it wasn't red, a tot of gin shared afterwards could even be appropriate. Or again, to pick another reference at random:
John 6:3 And Jesus went up into a mountain, and there he sat with his disciples.

Again somewhat vague. It would be easy enough to tell if someone was NOT doing that but climbing up and perching there like a display of garden ornaments seems to miss the mark.

Understanding what God's standard is enables us to see where those principles are being implemented today. That in turn helps us to appreciate the breadth of His Perfect Love® and how much suffering He witnessed to make His will known to us, how much wrongness needed to be cleansed from the world in order for His message to be preserved across the centuries. He instructed The Disciples to be armed – and as we've already seen this was not for merely decorative purposes. He secured The Promised Land© as a preserved haven for those He loved and in the same way will secure His promise for all Christians in these last days as we see taking place now. Although we don't know which actually will be THE last day, we do know what leads up to it. Charlatans in the past have identified "false dawns" for various reasons (all bad) which helps us to understand how important His message really is and what the world endured for us to hear it. Where would we be now without Christ?
Ecclesiastes 9:18 Wisdom is better than weapons of war: but one sinner destroyeth much good.
