  • Animals and the Word of God

Not many of you may know that one of my favorite verses is
Mark:16:15: And he said unto them, Go ye into all the world, and preach the gospel to every creature.
That my friends is Jesus speaking, right there!

And that verse does not take much understanding: Animals, insects, fish… They all need to hear God’s Word, and it matters little that they will not go to heaven – they will understand that men do go to heaven, and thus that we are superior in the Sight of the Lord! They will accept their inferior position as their lot in life and realize why it is that we have dominion over them (Ge:1:26).

So, often, of an evening I will go to Galilee Lake where Siloam Stream flows into it and address any wildlife that might hear me. I have found beavers to be atheists and, having offer God’s word on many occasions, I now throw rocks at them if they try to interrupt those of God’s creatures who might find His Word instructive.

For the past two months, I have had one particular Cormorant pay attention, and I went into some pretty serious theology with him. And, I’ll be a monkey’s uncle if the fellow didn’t seem to understand every word I spoke!

Well, as usual, Jesus was right. God’s Word had had the effect. This evening, I went down, and there was “my” Cormorant… Preaching.

Granted, the congregation could have been larger and, as time goes on, it probably will be.

But I am heartened again by this proof of God.

Once I tried to preach the gospel to a pair of seagulls, but they freaked out and kept making these weird dive-bombing attack runs on me. Hard to spread anointing oil!

Anyway, turns out they were hyped up because they had a nest nearby and they wanted to scare me off. Once I had stomped the chicks and eggs into mush they became much more receptive to my preaching.

It's all about knowing your audience, and what it takes to make them listen.

Re: Animals and the Word of God

I am now back from Sri Lanka, where I gave a short sermon given in the Elephant House at the den of Pagans they call "a temple" in the hopes of saving a few souls.

Elephants are particularly intelligent and it seems that the Word of The Lord had a salvific effect of on one elephant in particular.

Here we see a "Born-Again" Christian elephant obeying the Lord's Words:

      De:13:6: If thy brother, the son of thy mother, or thy son, or thy daughter, or the wife of thy bosom, or thy friend,... entice thee secretly, saying, Let us go and serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou, nor thy fathers;
      De:13:7: Namely, of the gods of the people which are round about you, nigh unto thee, or far off from thee, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth;
      ...
De:13:9: ... thou shalt surely kill him; thine hand shall be first upon him to put him to death,.

(Obviously Elephants don't have hands - so it used its trunk.)

Quick question; If animals don't go to heaven when they die, where do they go?

The same place plants go to when they die. They end up in the intestines of whatever eats their remains. Duh!

Well yeah, that's the physical body, but what about the animal themselves? What about animals like chimps and dolphins and elephants that show hyper-intelligence? What'll happen to them? (Also whoever changed my name, Ditzy is cute heheh but I would like it back if you don't mind)

Also, why are you so worried about animals when you should be worried about yourself?

That's all they are - a physical body.

The Bible speaks of wise people, but there is no correlation between intelligence and going to heaven.

Re: Animals and the Word of God

Greetings Reverend Bathfire and all my Baptist friends!

I had a dog as a youth when I was still living in my garrison which is Tivoli Gardens in Kingston which was named Makeda after the Queen of Sheba which was a great African kingdom of Black people. She was a large and fuzzy dog of a black coloration and quite intelligent though she could not speak. Thus she was unable to interrupt when I would tell her a little about Jah and his love for the animals. She would come and sit by me of a morning after I would roll a large spliff and set one end on fire as is the custom. At that time I would sometimes tell her a little about Jah and his love for I and her too. When I would exhale she would sniff up the ganja smoke. After a time I noticed that she was more interested in Jah and communing with him so she would eat my spliff if I left it available for her. It took some time to realize that the spliff had been eaten by Makeda as I thought I had misplaced it or possibly a bird had swooped down and taken it when I was not paying attention. Once in communion with Jah the dog would stand in a dark corner and drool. Often I could not find my herb and I would find Makeda drooling and know what had happened to the ganja.

Makeda was unable to tell me if she had joined with Jah Rastafari because she never developed the ability to speak. She proved treacherous in the end though. One day after the Shower Posse had been shooting at the Cubans she left and went to live with Dudus who was the Chairman of the Shower Posse and she never came back. Often I have wondered- Was she Rasta or rascal? I suppose I will never know.

                    Jah guide!

At your current stage of spiritual development, if it's a thing then it's something you don't know. Christ—not the devil's lettuce—is our only source of enlightenment.
Jeremiah 10:23 O LORD, I know that the way of man is not in himself: it is not in man that walketh to direct his steps.

Wherever your mind goes when it's wandering and however brightly you paint your room, the steps it (your mind) takes are undirected. That's what wandering is. But if you get off the Mary Jane and turn to Christ Jesus, knowledge becomes possible. This isn't something that dribbled in through cracks in the doors of perception, a fancy of my wandering mind. Quite the reverse. It's the simple Word Of God.

Proverbs is a great book, explaining that fear of the LORD is the beginning of knowledge but also pointing out how certain types reject that principle. I'm happy to post a link where you can read this for yourself rather than taking someone else's word for it.

Thank you sistren for the beautiful recording of the great epic- By the Rivers of Babylon. It is one of my favorite songs from my youth and it is one that all white people should listen to in order to understand the suffering brought by the white man on the black man and the brown man and the yellow man and the red man and everyone else who isn't a white man. I am here fighting for social justice against white nationalists who are many here in Babylon and it can be very lonely when I am surrounded by white people who want to oppress me. I am lifted up and made happy by your generosity. White girls like you have been very good to me so there must be some use for white people. Jah will reveal it eventually.

Re: Animals and the Word of God

I'm not sure what you're talking about but would remind you that Godliness is expected in discussions, especially concerning The Psalms. You may be thinking that when God ordained every herb bearing seed to us for meat in Genesis 1:29. He was not intending for us—that is to say, you—to get all hopped up on the ganja: what happens next is a broad appetite involving white, black, brown, yellow & red persons in I have no idea what combinations. I imagine it would look like tartan worms. This thread is not about reefer madness however but animals.
Genesis 1:30 And to every beast of the earth, and to every fowl of the air, and to every thing that creepeth upon the earth wherein there is life, I have given every green herb for meat: and it was so

This is a very informative verse because it describes a world without sin and therefore without death. Later on the nature of plants changed. Perhaps instead of obsessing over white girls you could suggest how animals were affected by Genesis 3:17-21?

Thank you for replying to my post. Did you notice Jamaica's representative in the beauty pageant around the 1¼ minute mark? Are you suggesting that she's Babylonian?

                            Greetings!

I can easily overstand your confusion Sistren. It is customary in Jamaica which is my home except for the Motherland which is my true home to allow white people to come to our country to bring money. Over time many white people have come to Jamaica and often they bring white girls. Black men have developed a great affection for white girls and we often allow them to represent Jamaica at beauty contests where the girls wear bathing suits. That white girl looks like an Englishman girl to me. She is one of the many white girls who prefer Black men.

Thank you for your kind remarks. How soon the darkening cloud o'ercame that sunny disposition. You can compare a frame where she's caught in a flash-bulb flash with one at 1⅓ minutes. Perhaps she was recalling events from Genesis 3:6-13 leading up to the passage I quoted earlier..is this common in Jamaica?

However we're not here to discuss beauty pageants and since whatever Makeda got up to in Tivoli Gardens at least includes an animal I'd hoped you could relate its activities with passages from Genesis? Very possibly you will need correction but I never assume error in another without appropriate discussion. The herb is mentioned but also a change in the nature of plants resulting from sin. I have never visited Jamaica but know from The Bible that it's very unlikely to be sin free so affliction of plants, including the spliff plant, must be rampant. And of course we already know that dogs are carnivores (even if they occasionally eat grass) which involves death.
James 1:14-15 Every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death.

I hope this is helpful for you and that we can get back on topic when you reply.
