  • Meteorites and God

    Some people write in about how geology in some way prove there is no God.

    If you are one of these unfortunates, I suggest you look at this picture and consider the following:

    1. See how the meteorite fell exactly into the crater: they always do that. God therefore must control them.

    2. See how the meteorite avoided the visitor center thus saving sacred human life.

    Now tell me that there is not a God who created all things and designed a universe to protect His children.

    That's powerful, Pastor Bathfire. I can see this post being reprinted across the world. Atheists will just have to accept they are wrong about the existence and power of God.

      I don't understand that meteorite business, and I would appreciate someone explaining this to me. How can stones fall down from the sky, if we can clearly see there are no stones hanging in the sky?!

        Ge:19:24: Then the LORD rained upon Sodom and upon Gomorrah brimstone and fire from the LORD out of heaven;

        I have yet to read a more accurate description of a meteorite. One assumes that one of God's "many mansions" (Joh:14:2)is stuffed with the things, just in case He needs them.

        In fact Forbes Magazine covered this
        New Science Suggests Biblical City Of Sodom Was Smote By An Exploding Meteor

        New research finds that a powerful airburst from a meteor colliding with the atmosphere may have wiped out a Bronze Age civilization along the north side of the Dead Sea some 3,700 years ago. While the findings come from the excavation of the Tall el-Hammam archaeological site in Jordan, many believe that the same place was once known as Sodom.

        Yes, as in Sodom and Gomorrah from the Bible, Torah and Quran - the cities of sin supposedly destroyed with brimstone and fire sent from God.

        Archaeologist Phillip J. Silvia of Trinity Southwest University in Albuquerque has been working with a team that has been excavating the site for over 13 years and presented their report at the annual meeting of the American Schools of Oriental Research last month.
        As you can't trust some of these archaeological types, I have checked Phillip J. Silvia credentials and he is a Christian.

          Mr. Bathfire,

          That is one huge crater! I can only imagine what the size of that is.

            Oh, Dear! One wonders if that is the same crater that often burns out of control: the one that is known as the Door to :

            And, Door to is, indeed, an accurate name for this horrible place. If you will kindly observe the following video clip, you will see that they were able to actually lower a microphone through the ground, and then they heard the horrid screams of sinners who were being punished for their rebellious sins -- in eternal torment -- against Almighty !

            Revelation 14:11 "And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name."

                Re: Meteorites and God

                That God placed the Meteorites in exactly the holes where He had planned to store them is just one of His carefully engineered feats. Another one is the length of days.

                We all get outside and do things in the summer. Toward the end of summer we are weary of doing outside things and feel the need to sleep more. He makes the nights longer. While we are indoors we need to feel the comfort of heat like fireplaces provide. In order for us to enjoy our fireplaces He makes it cooler outside. I don't know how God gets this all done but we are grateful.

                    You can try but they barely even visit these days, let alone respond to challenges. We're told on TV that atheists are on the rise and religion is in decline but all I see are Christians and Muslims attacking us everywhere. Look at Egypt for example.

                      Re: Meteorites and God

                      The Bible (KJV1611) calls for the punishment of "stoning" for numerous sins, and it simply makes sense that God would have some really big ones at His disposal to use for mass stonings when the need arises.

                      The real confusion arose when some atheist "scientists" chose to call them "Meteorites". I'm sure that God's big stones are floating up there in the firmament somewhere.
                      Hell's foundations quiver at the shout of praise;
                      brothers, lift your voices, loud your anthems raise.
                      ...and get off my lawn

                          Re: Meteorites and God

                          Getting back on topic, could it be that meteorites [yes I'm happy to run with whatever noun is best understood, the physical object is still the same] are stars that went out and became detached? Apparently there are trillions of stars and if easily visible naked-eye clusters extinguished all at once, showers of "meteorites" would be expected. God could either kill them on demand or arrange for significant battles at just those times, when the dead stars would fall down.

                          One thing no Christian would ever do is worship a meteorite. Not even if you fetched it out from its crater and stuck it on the corner of a great big stupid box. God is not a box and God is not a meteorite either. I could never kiss a fallen star.

                              Dear Miss Idiot: is not, at the moment, interested in purchasing hard items, such as steel, for the erecting of properties. We are happy, though, that your wife is pleased that your business is going well, and we can assure you that things will become even better, once you have given your life to the , forsaking your many disgusting sins, and following guidance, as you read the blessed -- on a daily basis.
