The fact that I respect people's beliefs doesn't mean that I agree with them.

I find it very disrespectful when you disagree with my beliefs!

To most "Christians" The Bible is like a license agreement. They just scroll to the bottom and click "I agree". All those "Christians" will burn in Hell!

It's not our fault, we didn't write the Bible. You despise God, please don't direct your anger at us. We love you.

        He hates you. Praise God!
I don't think you quite understand the meaning of "not believing in something". I understand that you are of the opinion that I'll burn in hell, but as far as I'm concerned you might just as well tell me I'll burn in Santa's grotto (oops, another Santa comparison, I'm going to get in trouble for this...)

There is a lot you can do actually. Stop insulting Jesus and start agreeing with my beliefs!

This is getting almost amusing. I do my best to be calm, logical and respectful and I get accused of not being critical enough. When I explain why I haven't been expressing direct critisism, I get accused of criticism. There's no pleasing some people.

It's stupid dumbass intellectually weak cheap throwaway comments like that that make me wonder why people like you actually come here.

Why come here just to offend people and shove your own twisted beliefs down our throats?

                Why?

I mean wouldn't go to the Wailing Wall in Jerusalem to piss on it.
                That would be disrespectful.
I don't go into mosques and try to sell bacon sandwiches.
                That would be disrespectful.
I don't go to Dublin and and paste 'Let's all laugh at the Irish Famine' posters everywhere.
                That would be disrespectful.
I'd never go to an orphanage and laugh at them all for having no parents.
                That would be disrespectful.
I wouldn't, even with chronic bowel problems, crap all over a stranger's nice clean kitchen floor.
                That would be disrespectful.

So why are you doing the same here?

You're not going to make me lose my calm that easily :-). I'll just ignore your insults and try to answer the basic question. Actually, insults aside, you make a very good point - why am I here? For one thing, I love a good, healthy debate. I also like to hear the opinions of others so that I can open my mind and know as much about the world as possible. If you take a good look, you'll realise that I haven't been attempting at any point to offend people or shove my opinions down anyone's throats. If it appears that way, then I can assure you that it wasn't my intention. I love everyone and my greatest wish is that the whole world could respect each other's differences and live together in peace and harmony. If a Christian forum is not suited for radical ideas, then I probably am in the wrong place. Several times I've been tempted to just leave, but I couldn't resist defending myself and trying to demonstrate that I'm actually not such a bad person :-). (Yes, yes, I know someone is going to reply and tell me yet again that I'm a terrible person who will burn in Hell...)

I don't think you're a terrible person. Misguided, perhaps, but not terrible. That doesn't change the fact that you're going to burn in Hell if you don't accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior, though.

"But the fearful, and unbelieving, and the abominable, and murderers, and whoremongers, and sorcerers, and idolaters, and all liars, shall have their part in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone: which is the second death." Revelation 21:8

Anyways, what does this possibly have to do with experiments proving the Earth is flat?
"Whether of them twain did the will of his father? They say unto him, The first. Jesus saith unto them, Verily I say unto you, That the publicans and the harlots go into the kingdom of God before you. For John came unto you in the way of righteousness, and ye believed him not: but the publicans and the harlots believed him: and ye, when ye had seen it, repented not afterward, that ye might believe him." Insult you? Where did I insult you?
I DID NOT insult you personally at all. I criticised your dumbass comment and the fact that you come here trying to shove your beliefs down our throats in an extremely disrespectful manner while bleating at the same time about how you're being mistreated (tho' it beggars belief that it's YOU claiming you're being mistreated..).

And it's true. If that's what you take for an insult then I see no point in you even listening to others' views. You'll find most people will treat your stupidity with the contempt it deserves.

But please don't lie about me insulting you. You should also learn some manners too.

Ok, if you weren't trying to insult me then I'm pleased about that. Don't be angry at me, I mean you no harm, and as I've repeatedly said (it's starting to become almost a disclaimer), I have the greatest respect for other people's opinions and would never try to force my intentions down other people's throats.

Others on this site have told me in no uncertain terms that they have no qualms about slavery, the oppression of women, stoning, etc., so I would say that my views (which I've presented as carefully as possible so that it wouldn't seem that I was trying to force them upon anyone), are rather mild in comparison. As a bit of a feminist and a member of Amnesty International I guess I'm a little too opinionated at times, and I apologise if I've offended you!

I semi-accept your semi-apology. But you see, that's your problem. You've got a 'semi' mindset. You really have to stop the half-measures glass half empty no wait half full no wait I'm not sure half something outlook in life and grab some hard firm ideals. From there you will find faith, beliefs and eventually morals and human decency of the good Christian.

If you were to let go of your prejudices against those of us who do not share your opinion you might be able to think properly for yourself, and by that I mean to see the Truth. Not just some empirical Chinese whispers belief system.

No intention of insulting, offence is meant by what I'm saying but if it does offend you then I'm afraid that's your own problem. Thank you for at least being polite though.

Yes, and you said that respect those views, despite personally disagreeing with them.

Secondly, since we Christians are forbidden from respecting your views, you also have to respect the view that your view is, to use more familiar vernacular, bonkers.
