If the earth were flat and you are in a plane 30000 ft above the earth you would be able to see the sun and moon at both time and it would be obvious that the circle the earth parallel to each other.

Um, I often see both Sun and Moon at the same time, from here on Earth (that happens quite regularly, every month, actually - when the Moon rises up during the day), so your argument seems to be invalid.

True it does happen it is usually at dawn and dusk but never at night. So it's not as invalid as you think it would be. Cause if you are flying over all obstructions and clouds, according to the flat earther you would see both the sun and the moon but that isnt possible because the sun is behind the earth.

And equally often at late morning, early afternoon, or any other time of day. (Which is why solar eclipses don't occur exclusively at down or dusk, but at any time).

If you define "night" as "the part of the 24 hr period when Sun is invisible," then duh - obviously, you cannot see both Sun and Moon at the time when, by definition, Sun is not visible!

So it's not as invalid as you think it would be. Cause if you are flying over all obstructions and clouds, according to the flat earther you would see both the sun and the moon but that isnt possible because the sun is behind the earth.

Wow, you certainly make a powerful argument! How about explaining why, exactly, you think they don't? Feel free to use your own models, bearing in mind that by "your own" I mean your own. Had you bothered to read this thread before butting in so rudely (where exactly IS your introduction thread, by the way?) then you will find that we have seen it all before.

They didn't mention that the sun was never visible at night. Perhaps I should have marked them down and punished them for not stating the obvious? )

Well Joanna, in the picture that sister Basilissa posted it represents the sun over the disc and the moon under it and vis versa with respect to being day or night. And it is a known fact that when it is night in the Western hemisphere it is daylight in the Eastern hemisphere. So that can be possible with said picture and same with James animation that he posted. I did bother reading the pastors initial thread of the 3 experiments that he conducted. In no way was I rude at any moment. And yes the moon can be out during daylight but when was the sun out during night?

Mary how am I regurgitating anything they are proven facts. If you are in a bus that is traveling 70mph and you jump you dont go flying all the way to the back of the bus. And the vantage point argument is valid as well. I have flown quite a few times and and several times at night and never have I seen the sun and the moon traveling in a circle over the earth at the same time. Now mass that one is harder to prove. But where is your rebuttal for anything I have put?

I'll try again.

Sun cannot be out during the night because on Earth, we define "day" as the part of the 24-hour time period when Sun is visible and we define "night" as the part of the 24-hour time period when Sun is not visible.

Now, if you want to see a 24-hour period without any night in it, I invite you to the Antarctic in December. Depending on the correlation between the Sun cycle and the Moon cycle this year, you might see the Moon at some point of the 24-hour long day. (I haven't checked, though).


EDIT: I checked, and the Moon will be visible the whole 24-hour days during the first half of December in the Antarctic. Hence, both Sun and Moon will be visible all the time chasing each other in the sky.

I agree with you on that fact and that there is 24 hours of sunlight and night time at the arctic circle as well. And that is do to the poles tilting more towards the sun at their respective times. But what I'm trying to convey is flying over North America at night if it were a flat earth you would be able to see both sun and moon.

But what I'm trying to convey is flying over North America at night if it were a flat earth you would be able to see both sun and moon.

We already covered this. If you are flying at night you cannot see the Sun, because the night is defined by the absence of the Sun.
