Well, most calendars are not entirely just human constructs. The Mayan 260 day calendar was indeed a totally human construct because it had no astronomical basis that I know of (please correct me if I'm wrong; maybe it was some synodic cycle?). However, the "other" Mayan calendar, as well as Julian and Gregorian calendars, are solar years, thus astronomically based (albeit some are more exact than others). So it's not as arbitrary as you think.

It is not the year 4.5 billion due to the creation of man and the thought of time management, 4.5 billion years ago, man did not exist, but through evolution, we became smarter, more able to keep track of time and to measure time, hence why our calendars only date back 2016 years ago.

Time was recorded longer ago than 2016 but at the time it was recorded as BC as in Before Christ.

Why does it matter if Jesus existed or not? Even if he did, the Bible doesn't describe him with 100% accuracy, he wasn't the Son of God, he didn't perform miracles or raise from the dead. If he existed, then he's dead. Been dead for almost 2000 years. The Bible is just a bunch of stories that have no evidence to back up. Especially Noah's Ark, Creationism, Jesus's resurrection, etc. There are no outside sources that describe Jesus's resurrection or miracles.

Why do I have to say it's the year 4.5 billion just because I'm an atheist? I'll pick whichever way to tell the dates that I want. It's true that the earth is around 4.5 billion years old, but it makes things a lot easier for me to stick with the simple "it's 2016".

I must say, you're worse than the mooselimbs, but at least they acknowledge the existence of Jesus - just that he wasn't the Son of God. Maybe you don't believe in God - but what about allah? Do you know how to drive trucks?
