What better proof is there than a book written by God?
We don't need any other proof.

started a topic Can you prove that your beliefs are true?

Can you prove that your beliefs are true?

    I most certainly cannot.

The best way to classify my beliefs would be Deism. I believe that God exists, but not much beyond that.

The reason I have for believing that, is that all of the scientific evidence that I have seen or heard of, points to our universe being completely unaffected by God, and us existing because of Evolution, the universe existing because of the big bang, etc.

However, matter and energy don't come out of nowhere, things don't spontaneously begin to exist. At least nothing in our known universe can. That means that something (or someone) outside of our universe has to have that power. That someone is God, and is in my opinion, beyond classification as being someone or something.

However, I cannot really prove that this is true, because it is impossible to even prove that what I see, hear, taste, feel, or smell is real. I assume that my senses are correct, but there is still the chance that there is some scientific conspiracy, or that God exists exactly as described in the King James Bible, and did create the earth just over 6000 years ago, and did it so it appeared that it was billions of years old. It wouldn't be to tough for an omnipotent god to do that.

However, my belief makes the most sense, and with that I can live my life doing the best that I can, for myself as well as other people.

How have you come to your conclusion (or not come to a conclusion) about your beliefs?
