How about just one, then? People only seem to pray for things that have a good chance of happening on their own without divine intervention, like getting a new job or cancer going into remission. Nobody ever expects God to answer a prayer to regrow limbs or bring a dead person back to life.

I suppose I was being greedy and selfish by wanting all of the soldiers to be healed.

Are you just a freakin idiot atheist or what??? Don't you know that God is for war? Don't you know that all them men that served, lost their lost, families, and limbs, God uses it for his glory! Amen that is right! That means they can seek and ask, but only whom he wishes to save he will because he is God. God gets the last say not some athiest ramblin.

If you even took the time to read your bible you might not be here saying ignorant stuff. But welcome anyway. We love the unsaved!

Hello again Joe. I have prayed to Jesus every day that He would use His omnipotent powers to make you accept Him as your personal Saviour and let Him into your heart.

Hurry up now, Joe, and accept Jesus. Sooner or later, Jesus will have to kill you, and if you die in your sins (John 8:24) Jesus will be forced to torture you for ever and ever.

I don't follow you on this. Souls by definition are supernatural since they exist were God is. Nobody has been ever able to detect them (Dr Ville almost had poof but he thinks his experiment failed because he was using Mexicans as test subjects) For a soul to exist it has to have a presence of some kind in this world. Since we all know we have souls the rest of it with demons and angles running around has to be true.

I mean without demons how do you explain Hillary Clinton?

    Friend,

It is an interesting idea friend but the problem is you say you are an atheist. Now as an atheist you only believe in things you can see. God is not Hell friend so you still wouldn’t believe in Him so you couldn’t ask for His help.

You see God has closed these little loop holes in His Plan® along time ago.

The worldwide Anglican Community spit as a whole? I don't even want to think about what's going on there.

Have you READ the Book of Job? Did that seem merciful to you? What about when he hardened Pharoah's heart, just so He'd have an excuse to show off His awesome baby-killin' skills? Rest assured, the sufferings of Job will be as nothing compared to the sufferings of Joe if you don't knock this sinful 'atheology' nonsense on the head quick-sharp!

And I ask you again: the Resurrection of Christ - symbolic or real? The Virgin Birth - Divine Truth or 2000-year-old shaggy dog story?

Since this hasn't happened, then if your God exists, it must not want me to believe in it. Then what we have here is more of a case of it rejecting me than me rejecting it.

This Hell of yours sounds like a pretty nasty place. If I thought there was a chance in Hell that it was real, I would do whatever I needed to do to stay out of it.

There is no such place as hell, it's a myth. Christianity was built on symbolism and the magnificent literature of ancient holy men.

After a lifetime of rejecting His offer of Salvation(r), you're going to repent after the fact. Ahhhh that's rich! I look forward to seeing Him punt your sorry hiney into Hell as you fall to your knees to bed for your soul

He is indeed merciful, and has given you an entire lifetime to repent from your sinful nature and turn to Him for Salvation(r). Why can't you accept it??? Once you're dead, it's too late!

Why would He want to Save(tm) you though? Surely if you've spent a lifetime rejecting Him, He's not going to have much of a liking for you.

Joe, you disappoint me. You spoke of being intelligent and such in your first post, and now this. You are letting me (and Jesus) down immensely. I fear for your soul.

Hmmm Sister Mary Maria, there are no African Anglican missionaries coming up here to our Diocese to liberate our Episcopal Church from the gay issue. The E Church of the USA is dealing with it through the Lambeth Conferences. Here's hoping for a solution, lest we are forced into the schizm, or even forced to spit with the worldwide Anglican Communion as a whole.

    ... blessings, noddy

Did I also get that right that you believe The Bible is a human explanation of God and not divinely inspired?
Answers for you, Bobby-Joe ... my own, not necessarily those of my church ...

    1) the perfect God can not exist in this imperfect world?

I see God as having been outside the physical reality before time began, as creating the universe suddenly by His Word. By His command all things came to be; the vast expanse of interstellar space, galaxies, suns, the planets in their courses, and this fragile earth, our island home.

I see Him as having set it in motion, having designed it to evolve over time (billions of years of time) with the properties modern science has now discovered in the cosmos and in nature.

I see all macroevolution from the beginning of the universe as a progression according to His divine plan, leading to biological life on this planet, and ultimately human beings, and the human soul.

    2) I don't see the creation account of Genesis as false, I see it as a simplified version of what actually happened; true, but in story form.

    3) There is nothing 'supernatural' in nature, there are only things we don't yet understand. God is out there, God in also here and in the human heart, and he is real, and yes we do have souls: in His image.

    4) I see the Bible as written by human beings who were divinely inspired by the Holy Spirit.

Have you read a few of my posts elsewhere on the board Mary Maria, I have said that I'm personally against homosexuality and the gay lifestyle. Very against it.
