There should be a less attacking way of warning someone.

It is impossible to warn of eternal torment in Hell without being aggressive. We would be doing Christ a disservice if we were limp wristed about ministering to the lost souls who come here.

Ok, so explain to me why the opinions of a woman aren't useful.

To be honest, that is something I struggled with myself when I first became saved. It seemed to me that women were as smart and as capable as men. However, God told me otherwise, in His book called the Bible.

"Thou Shalt Not Kill" That seems pretty straightforward. I think we can all embrace that. But then there's all the little verses here and there that tell you when it's ok to kill someone. Like if they're gay, or if they've cheated, or if they eat pork, or grow cut the hair next to their ears. I would think that a COMMANDMENT from God Himself on a mountain would be LAW. UNCHANGING. ABSOLUTE.

I have never seen any racism or sexism on this forum from any of the Pastors or True Christians™. I have seen plenty from the unsaved folks who drop in from time to time.

I want you to think about what you have just said. God gave us His Word, in the form of the Bible. The Bible is the only objective way for us to know His Word. Do you believe that God is so incompetent that He is incapable of getting His message to us in a pure uncorrupted form, that is objective and shareable?

That said, the Bible contradicts itself plenty of times. Is God just not able to make up his mind, or is it possible that it's men's interpretations of what God inspired them to say that makes it that way?

There is a difference between rubbing it in, and delivering a warning. No one here wants you to be in Hell.

So I think there's probably some misconveyed messages in there. Here and there. I think that it's also a factor that it was translated from another language. So I don't take everything in the Bible at face value.

Let me show you where I'm coming from so we can be on the same page about this. I didn't come here to make enemies. Although I'm sure Marshall is praying for my damnation about now...

I believe in God. I believe God made everything that we see and our senses to see it. I believe Jesus was another Son Of God, just like the rest of us. he just got up and DID what no one else seems to want to do, which is love everyone equally and love everyone so much that he'd die to proclaim that love. Not that I'm anywhere near that. I believe that sure, the Bible could be divinely inspired. God could have inspired the hands of the men who wrote it to write what he wanted. But if there's one thing I've learned about people, they screw things up. Always. So I think there's probably some misconveyed messages in there. Here and there. I think that it's also a factor that it was translated from another language. So I don't take everything in the Bible at face value. I look for the message of the whole. Love everyone equally. Don't judge people because everyone has value. Respect God because he made your happy ass and he loves you enough to keep you alive.
