Hell sounds like a more appealing place to me. All the free-minded thinkers, best actors, best comedians, and best musicians will be there. We'll all smoke weed together with Satan while you guys live in eternal torture worshiping a jealous and power-hungry god.

Depictions of Hell (like in "Little Nicky") as a series of caves where people hang out for eternity have nothing to do with the Bible.

Hell is a vast lake of fire, in which you will be burned for all eternity, never dying, instead being tortured forever and ever. Infinite punishment for your finite sins. That's the way God rolls, and billions will tell you that.

You offer a very terrible explanation of why we are here. Religion leaves no room for pondering or free thinking.

Why would we need to "ponder"? God already gave us the answers.

I think God's the evil one, not Satan.

Also, there are SOME true Christians. The types that actually try to be like Christ, not some pompous self absorbed brainwashing priest.

To be "Christlike" means to follow every one of God's 613 commandments. Do you think Bob Marley did that? The only one I'm aware of that he and his Rastafarian pals attempted to follow was to execute homosexuals . . . and he botched that, by hating them instead of stoning them.

Who said thinking, logical people are going to hell? There have been many great thinkers who were Christians and many books and paintings have been inspired by the Bible.
Heck, even the early Superman comics were inspired by the Moses story. (baby sent away in a rocket/cradle to escape death, discovered and raised by another family, discovers who/what he actually was and decides to use his powers to save humanity, etc..)

I appreciate that, but it's not the catholic church that did. While it may not look like it, I hold no ill feelings towards religious people. Hating does no good.

It just scary to see what fear and brainwashing does to people.

People who are brainwashed don't choose to be brainwashed. It's outta their control.
But everyone here (other than the trolls and Godmockers) chose to accept Jesus and we choose to worship God and to follow the Bible everyday.
And we don't "hate" other religions, we fear for their souls and well-being.
Please, don't just reject God all together just because some so-called churches give Him a bad name.

...You may also be surprised at just how much thinking goes into the decision to live ones life by God's standards. It is no easy feat and in fact the only fear that ever came into my personal decision to do so, was fearing I would miss all the less than Godly things I would have to give up.

Perhaps that's where YOUR problem is. Too scared to give up what you "know".

So true. Before I made the decision to give my life to God, I was so confused and scared, but once I made the decision, I felt so relieved and at peace.
I just pray that everyone could feel that way.
