But because there is no good reason to believe that, I WOULD NOT be able to mean it if I were to pray. Why does god not make his existance more obvious? Why should it require faith?

Religious beliefs only have faith as evidence (but faith is not evidence). There is no valid proof for any religion, which is what makes it religion. Faith by definition is the believe in something with little or no evidence. Religious folk in the past tell me I need to "feel" it, whatever the hell that means. They say to find "the truth" you have to have already accepted it, so to find God you have to have already found God....

It is interesting how you differentiate. Religious Faith to you is wrong when day to day faith assertions are ok it seems. I mean, when it comes down to it, you have FAITH that you will wake in the morning. You have FAITH that your car will start next time you go to spark the ignition. You have faith that it won't rain on the day you want to hold a BBQ shin-dig of family and friends, so you send out invitations at least a month prior. You have FAITH that the secular science books you read, and take the information within them as a TRUTH, will be right. I mean, it is not like you have personally been to the moon or been to the sun now is it to KNOW FOR SURE. Pretty much every decision we make in life is faith based.

If you are too ignorant to realize that, then you have problems, sparky.

When people have said to you that you need to "feel" or witness the result of that faith to understand it, is the truth, They are right. Just as you know after the fact that you DID wake up and your car DID start and the weather for that BBQ was fine. Why do you assume faith in God is any different? Just because YOU have not experienced the fulfillment of that Faith personally, does not mean that MILLIONS of others world wide are just making it up.

Don't blame your personal failure to comprehend, on God.

PS. As to your point directed at me earlier. Please provide scripture to support that Jesus said that Christians had to be tolerant or have to tolerate those of different belief systems. I look forward to it.

Now you're just talking circles. First of all to be saved you must be open to God which you are definitely not. You want us to hand you salvation on a silver platter, well that's not how it works. A good place to start would be by reading the KJV Bible. Then pray for forgiveness (meaning it) and ask Jesus into your heart. It's the only way that works.
