Why would I need thousand year old scripture to know what God says? I just listen to what my heart tells me is right. God is my morality.

According to the Bible, that is utter nonsense. We should follow the Law of God, not the imaginations of our own hearts:

Deuteronomy 29:19-20:
And it come to pass, when he heareth the words of this curse, that he bless himself in his heart, saying, I shall have peace, though I walk in the imagination of mine heart, to add drunkenness to thirst:
The LORD will not spare him, but then the anger of the LORD and his jealousy shall smoke against that man, and all the curses that are written in this book shall lie upon him, and the LORD shall blot out his name from under heaven.

After all who knows better, God, who wrote the Bible, or you, acting on random things you happen to "feel" in your heart? Is your heart your god?

There are many things I want to do that would not be moral, but in the end I try to do what my conscience tells me would be beneficial to the most number of people around me. How is that not a Christian trait? If you need scripture to back it up (I don't incidentally) this is always a good one:

Matthew 7:12
So in everything, do to others what you would have them do to you, for this sums up the Law and the Prophets.

That Verse is referring to the Holy Spirit, not to your own heart. Are you illiterate?

Anyway, Jesus was very clear that we still have to follow the entire Old Testament Law:

Matthew 5:17-19:
Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.
Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

If an atheist man wants his wife to do something differently, he will politely ask her, not hit her. And if she says no, he will have a respectful discussion about it, and they will come to an agreement together.
