Re: Who is more persecuted in America - Christians or Atheists?

Every day of a Christians life is constant and unrelenting persecution by Atheists. The crimes against Christians are so numerous they don't bear mentioning because everyone knows them already.

If Christians aren't being persecuted then how do you explain Governor Rick Perry.

Is there even an argument? Unelected liberal activist judges have twisted the First Amendment so that atheists like you can post anti-Christian hate speech like that, while we Christians do not enjoy even such basic rights of free speech as having public school districts organize prayers and Bible study for their students, teaching Genesis alongside evil-utionism in public schools, posting reminders of the Biblical origin of our legal system in courtrooms, and honoring Our Lord Jesus Christ with displays in public parks unless the dotheads get the special privilege of honoring their demons as well.

You’ve got Maryland. Where yet another atheist high school student started a group, whose posters were torn down by other students — and where actual parents of those students wrote letters to the editor supporting the vandalism, and calling the atheist posters “an atrocity.”

You’ve got Oklahoma. Where still another public high school student tried to start an atheist group, and was accused by his principle of trying to start a “hate group”… and where the faculty advisor for the group suddenly withdrew, saying she had been told sponsoring the group would be “a bad career move.”
What is your point? Do morals and decent values bother you?

Atheistists, you can whine all you want. But, not one atheist has died on a cross.

That's what Christians have to put up with.

every sitcom on television featuring a Christian is ALWAYS caricatured, while atheism is never even mentioned. oh and this president essentially said anyone who holds to the Bible is a fool... then he turns around and reads from it at the 9/11 ceremony...

Who cares if atheists are persecuted? If they can't be bothered to praise God, I have no use for them.

    tl;dr

    Simple answer, Christians are!
Matthew 5:10 Blessed are they which are persecuted for righteousness' sake: for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.
Matthew 5:11 Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

    Matthew 5:44 But I say unto you, Love your enemies, bless them that curse you, do good to them that hate you, and pray for them which despitefully use you, and persecute you;

Matthew 10:22 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end shall be saved.

Matthew 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.

Luke 21:17 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake.

Romans 12:14 Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

1 Corinthians 4:12 And labour, working with our own hands: being reviled, we bless; being persecuted, we suffer it:

    Luke 6:22
Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company, and shall reproach you, and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

I do not see a single mention of God haters or atheists in there anywhere. Do you?

Todd Stiefel and the Foundation Beyond Belief offered $250,000 in matching funds to the ACS — a great big pot of godless moolah — and the American Cancer Society dodged and waffled and squirmed and ran away from the money. A charitable foundation turned their nose up at half a million dollars. It’s inexplicable. http://freethoughtblogs.com/pharyngu...-cause-cancer/

Atheists put up billboards saying simply, "You can be good without God" -- and people freak out. http://freethoughtblogs.com/greta/20...-to-advertise/

Atheists march in a Christmas parade -- and people freak out. http://freethoughtblogs.com/greta/20...theists-exist/

Atheist veterans march in a Memorial Day parade -- and get booed to their faces. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendl...eist-soldiers/ Specifically, Annville, Pennsylvania. Where atheist veterans marching in the Memorial Day parade were jeered, booed, insulted, cursed at, yelled at to leave, and told they were going to burn in hell. Not once or twice by a couple of fanatics… but repeatedly, throughout the course of the parade.

Atheist students in public high schools try to organize groups -- and get routinely stonewalled by their school administrations. http://freethoughtblogs.com/greta/20...-pushing-back/ Hence — lawsuit. Which, as of this writing, is happening solely and entirely in the state of Alabama. As Eberhard, campus organizer and high school specialist at the Secular Student Alliance, added, “While it’s not the first state in which we have seen pushback from adults in a position of authority over students to the idea of atheists forming clubs in the same way religious students form clubs, it is the first state in which we’ve had to bring in lawyers to fight for equality denied.”

Atheists try to take out ads on buses -- and the bus company changes their policy and stops accepting any ads from religious organizations, just so they don't have to run ads from atheists. http://www.patheos.com/blogs/friendl...religious-ads/

Atheists get threatened, hounded from their communities, disowned by their parents http://freethoughtblogs.com/greta/20...st-ostracized/

denied custody of their children, when they come out as atheists. http://volokh.com/posts/1125342962.shtml

just a year and a half ago, the Mississippi chapter of the American Civil Liberties Union rejected a donation from atheist organizations... not because they personally had anything against atheists, but because, "the majority of Mississippians tremble in terror at the word 'atheist.'" http://www.nytimes.com/2010/04/01/us/01prom.html

in the U.S. Atheists are the most distrusted and disliked of all minority groups — more than Blacks, Hispanics, Jews, Muslims, immigrants, and gays and lesbians. - http://blog.lib.umn.edu/edgell/home/...%20Values.html

polls show that Americans are less likely to vote for an atheist than they are for a person in any other minority or marginalized category. http://atheism.about.com/od/atheistb...istSurveys.htm

In Arkansas, the Central Arkansas Transit Authority (CATA) has flatly rejected an atheist ad that the Central Arkansas Coalition of Reason wanted to put up on 18 buses… solely and entirely because the content of the ads — “Are you good without God? Millions are” — is atheist. http://friendlyatheist.com/2011/06/0...tral-arkansas/ Let me spell this one out very plainly: A government-run public transit authority is rejecting religious-themed advertising — solely because the religious view being advertised is the view that religion is mistaken. And no, they haven’t changed their policy to reject all religious-themed ads. They still take religious-themed ads. Just not ones from atheists.

Alabama. The state where the actual governor, Robert Bentley, said in actual words, “Anybody here today who has not accepted Jesus Christ as their savior, I’m telling you, you’re not my brother and you’re not my sister.” http://articles.latimes.com/2011/jan/19/…

in December of 2009, Cecil Bothwell couldn’t even get elected to the Asheville city council, without people trying to invoke laws — antiquated laws overruled by the Supreme Court, but laws nonetheless — banning him from taking office because he’s an atheist. http://www.citizen-times.com/article/200…

in Florida, you might get kicked out of a city council meeting simply for wearing an atheist T-shirt. http://friendlyatheist.com/2011/01/26/at…

if you protest against prayers at city council meetings, you might actually get arrested. http://friendlyatheist.com/2011/02/23/me…

Did you hear the one about the public high school with the prayer banner in the school gym — a prayer banner specifically addressed to “Our Heavenly Father”. The public high school that got asked to take the banner down by fifteen-year-old atheist high school student Jessica Ahlquist, since it’s an unconstitutional promotion of religion by government? The public high school that’s digging in its heels and hanging on to the banner, despite decades of unambiguous legal precedent making it clear that they’re in the wrong? The public high school that’s getting sued by said atheist high school student and the ACLU… and is still digging in its heels, devoting extensive time and resources to defending their promotion of religion? http://www.projo.com/education/content/C… Students in an English class in her school said — during class — that she should be “smacked around and beat up” for fighting the prayer banner. http://freethoughtri.com/?p=569 Comments in the Providence Journal article on the story were ugly, personal, even threatening — to a great extent about the ACLU, but largely about Ahlquist herself. (“I think you need to talk to a doctor and get help… you are sick in the head.” “Looks like we have a moon bat in the making.” “Make no mistake, Jessica and the Bolshevik thugs representing her are driven by anti-Christian bigotry and intolerance and censorship… Curse them to hell.”) http://www.projo.com/education/content/C… according to the Providence Journal, Ahlquist and another student were removed from their regular classroom schedule last month — after some students said they intended to harm her.
