That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. How can it become overpopulated when it goes on forever?

I try to share the love of Jesus with you and look what you do, you are truly hateful. Just to prove my Christian nature I am gonna pray for you anyway you pantload.

Okay, I agree to a message of hate in some, I repeat, SOME metal music (like some of the music an ex boyfriend gave me, which was distroyed because we parted on bad terms and if I saw that CD one more time.....) but not all of it celebrates the "entity" that you like to call "Satan". I direct one to Symphony X, a very good symphonic metal band that celebrates in life of all things.

As far as I'm concerned, modern beat combos ARE instruments of torture.

Was there meant to be any kind of meaning in that jumble of words, or did you just want to prove once and for all that the Devil's Music destroys young brains, especially when mixed with the drug pills?
O Lord our God, help us to tear their soldiers to bloody shreds with our shells; help us to cover their smiling fields with the pale forms of their patriot dead; help us to drown the thunder of the guns with the shrieks of their wounded, writhing in pain; help us to lay waste their humble homes with a hurricane of fire; help us to wring the hearts of their unoffending widows with unavailing grief; help us to turn them out roofless with little children to wander unfriended the wastes of their desolated land in rags and hunger and thirst, sports of the sun flames of summer and the icy winds of winter, broken in spirit, worn with travail, imploring Thee for the refuge of the grave and denied it--for our sakes who adore Thee, Lord, blast their hopes, blight their lives, protract their bitter pilgrimage, make heavy their steps, water their way with their tears, stain the white snow with the blood of their wounded feet! We ask it, in the spirit of love, of Him Who is the Source of Love, and Who is the ever-faithful refuge and friend of all that are sore beset and seek His aid with humble and contrite hearts. Amen.

God being truth, justice, goodness, beauty, power, and life, man is falsehood, iniquity, evil, ugliness, impotence, and death. God being master, man is the slave. Incapable of finding justice, truth, and eternal life by his own effort, he can attain them only through a divine revelation... he who desires to worship God must harbor no childish illusions about the matter, but bravely renounce his liberty and humanity.

That made a little more sense, but I don't actually have a false entity of Satan. Would you say your abuse of the Baby Jesus' capital letters is a result of your listening to the Devil's heavy mental music, or just because of the drug pipes?

Actually I would say it is so that you may understand. I see the capital letters have done their duty. I hate drugs with a passion and metal has done nothing to my brain. It actually helps me work faster and think better.

Shouting does not help, despite your erroneous reply. Neither does the statement, were it true, address the posed question “i listen to heavy metal, am i going to hell?” (Sadly lacking in uppercase – perhaps you should get together.)

The world of metal music is an encouragement to abandonment of civilized behaviour. Once the trappings of polite and Godly gentility have departed, we find that immorality appears to fill the void. Metal music has, over the years, shown itself to be the precursor to a depravity, which has blasted society from those better days .

“Who,” you may ask, “is best positioned to benefit by such behaviour?” The answer must be Satan – Lord of Discord.

Thus we see that the answer is similar to the answer to the question, “I am setting sail in an unseaworthy vessel at the height of the storm, I intend to sail between the rocks although I have no navigational skills at all, will a few bottles of whiskey help?”

The answer to this is, “Only if The Lord is with you, which all experience and learning says He will not be.”

Does the Bible (KJV1611) support the thought that idolatry (a grave sin) and music go together?

Da:3:7: Therefore at that time, when all the people heard the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, sackbut, psaltery, and all kinds of musick, all the people, the nations, and the languages, fell down and worshipped the golden image that Nebuchadnezzar the king had set up.

Now we can confidently conclude that the answer to, “i listen to heavy metal, am i going to hell?”is a resounding “Yes.”

                      You're all Damned.

When I said above, “You two should get together.” It was for the benefit of your appalling destruction of the typed word by negligent use of the keyboard, not to discuss amongst yourselves the finer points of theology and uncouth music and, (you particularly Uncle Goose) not what likely judgment should be passed on the soul of Dave-uk!

Here you are, in the presence of The Lord, in His favourite Church, chatting like women at a coffee morning, and advising one another (and, worse still, others who might pass by) with a surpassing superficiality, about the most pressing question of the Salvation of the soul! Your arrogance and ignorance amazes me in equal proportion!

NeilReadist, you are wrong, Dave-uk will be wallowing in vileness and brimstone as demons in the form of social workers destroy his soul from within. He will see no more of your beloved tofu sandwiches; he will not be in an up-and-coming neighborhood of restored gentility happily celebrating the vibrant diversity of harmonious cultures... no, no, no, he will have other things to occupy his mind.

This is no question of degree, it is a question of absolutes – listen to Satan’s howlings and you will be getting live performances.

Alright, I admit that I overreacted, but it tends to be irritating when people can't get it right the first time. I appologise for shouting.
Now, on to the topic at hand. Music is an expression of the soul. That being said, yes some bands may have a strong "anti-life" message. As long as you avoid them, your brain should be fine.
One of my favorites is Disturbed (not metal but the only metal I have is Fantasy (Power Metal) and does not serve the purpose of this post). When one takes the lyrics apart, one sees the meaning behind them, such as "Violence Fetish" which shows how most people are addicted to violence in their lives and it's not good for them. The song shows how the saying "garbage in, garbage out" rings true with the human mind and personality. If you put violence into your head, you are going to be a violent person if you do not know how to control it.
Or their cover of "Land of Confusion" which shows how the world is going to hell (excuse the horrible pun but it couldn't be helped). With how the world is morally decaying, someone needs to say something. It's not like pop, rap and hiphop are looking at the state of the world. They are all selfish music styles that speak of material things. Country is mostly crying, loving, and leaving. Every once in a while you come across a song that looks at the state of the world and tries to get people to fix it. That doesn't happen very often but it does happen.
