Irony? How can you possibly equate the desires of Almighty God with those of the Satanic heathen paganisim that the likes of yourself or Hellsinker follow?

So God is allowed to sacrifice all the innocent children he wants but we burn in "Hell" if we sacrifice one...hmmm...that makes perfect sense.

Yep Ixi, now you see what happens when fundies try to take the Bible all in one swallow, as an all-in-one-time-frame-mishmash-tumble-jumble without regard to history, culture, language, regional customs or chronological time --- there is just no logic in it whatsoever

Some parts of the scripture talk about what men thought was right to do at the time, and other parts tell of what God wants instead; and in many places these are mixed together --- and this is why interpretation is needed

It's true that we mere humans cannot know the mind of God, but his Word was meant for guidance so that we could get to know him better, not so that we are left in a senseless confusion of contradictions

You know, if God has the ability to make desicions like any other person, that means he IS like a person, and we should fight against it if we want to! He's no more powerful than us and shouldn't be!

To answer you --- yes pagans who sacrifice children would probably go to hell, and yes God could burn children if he wants to, God can do anything he wants, whenever he wants.

God's thoughts are not human thoughts, his reasons are not human reasons, his laws are not our laws, they are divine; and except by his grace and mercy we would be nothing, and have nothing.

But in the Bible itself, there is a lot to absorb: there are long accounts of history, geneology, there are detailed descriptions of the everyday lives of the early tribes and communities --- in a time when both scholars and ordinary men were trying to make sense of themselves and creation and God; the scriptures are complicated, and in many places this bit would appear to contradict that bit --- I say, would appear --- because after all, we were not living in those times, and we are not God.

No Ixi --- God is not a person like you or me --- God is spirit, he is divine --- no one has ever seen God, he is unknowable and unreachable; it is only by his divine love and mercy that he has communicated with human beings over the centuries; and that is how we were given the scriptures we know today as the Holy Bible.

We TRUE Christians are not going to Hell. We have accepted Christ as our personal savior and He guids our lives and actions. To say a TRUE Christian is going to hell for something he did is to say Jesus is going to hell.
