It certainly couldn't be an opinion held by a man who ate and dined with the tax collectors and who with a single caring word saved a man dying on a cross for terrible sins.

Jesus is a New Covenant and the laws and practices held in the old testament are no longer relevant.

                Brother Lazarus

                'First, consider Matthew 5.

Matthew 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfill.'

This quote (for me; ) doesn't show that rape is not vile. I believe this quote was to show that those who wanted a Messiah to take the throne, become a king, and inherit and use military actions, were simply not going to have one. Jesus was peaceful and loving - he was not there to conquer lands that did not agree to his teachings - he came to us to show us the true ways of the Lord - to fulfill our lives.

'Matthew 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Matthew 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.'

Sorry? But this dosen't proof that rape isn't vile to conduct to somebody. This is just saying we should obey the great Lord's teachings.

Sorry, but surely children are God's possession? Since God rules everything and anything? And then if so, surely these children should have the chance to live within the Glory of God? If so - they can follow the bible, and live good lives - in God's name?

If God tells us how to conduct ourselves in the matter of rape, then that is His Teachings.

The fact that you think the Teachings are wrong, is you putting yourself above God.

The question of vileness does not come into it. It may be "vile" to some people to "turn the other cheek" but they must accept that this is the law of God.

All the girl has to do if she is dissatisfied, is to "turn the other cheek."

I wish people like you would think before posting. Your only excuse is that you are a woman and thus unused to thinking.

It seems to me that you are reading an awful lot into that verse. Are you trying to imply that God loves witches, sodomites and God-mockers? Are you one of these "John 3:16 Christians" who maintain that "Jesus does not hate anyone?"

That's just not true. God hates the sin AND the sinner, and Jesus is God (John 10:30 I and my Father are one.).

Lev 20:23 And ye shall not walk in the manners of the nation, which I cast out before you: for they committed all these things, and therefore I abhorred them.

Hosea 9:15 All their wickedness is in Gilgal: for there I hated them: for the wickedness of their doings I will drive them out of mine house, I will love them no more: all their princes are revolters.
Please read the WHOLE Bible before it's too late.

Before you complain about the the fact that the verses I cited were from the Old Testament, as if that somehow makes them worthless, consider this:

In the Old Testament, it says that God hates "all workers of iniquity" (Ps 5:5).

In the New Testament, what does Jesus say that he is going to do to these workers of iniquity? Is he going to love them? Is he going to be their pal, and tell them that it's ok to be themselves? Let's see...

Matt 13:41-42 The Son of man shall send forth his angels, and they shall gather out of his kingdom all things that offend, and them which do iniquity; And shall cast them into a furnace of fire: there shall be wailing and gnashing of teeth.
I pray that you have found this enlightening.
                      Who Will Jesus Damn?

You are deluded. I have not the faintest idea which book you have been studying, but it certainly is not the Bible (KJV1611)

The Psalm you quote only says how long His Love will last, it says nothing about whom He loves. “His Love” is restricted to those who worship Him and no one else – “Thou shalt have no gods before me.” See also Jesus in Luke 19:27.

I cannot see where children are God’s possessions: Christ asks that “little children come unto Me” Why would he say that if they were His already?

Why would the bible say that if you are in debt, you should sell your wife and children, if they are not yours to sell?

Nothing burns my toast than to see a person 'interpret' the Bible. You read it, you follow it verbatim. You do not make up hidden meaning to His words. Where would society be if all people did was interpret other people?
Isaiah 45:7 I form the light, and create darkness: I make peace, and create evil: I the LORD do all these things.
Amos 3:6 Shall a trumpet be blown in the city, and the people not be afraid? shall there be evil in a city, and the LORD hath not done it?
Numbers 21:6 And the LORD sent fiery serpents among the people, and they bit the people; and much people of Israel died.
Matthew 10:34 Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.
Matthew 10:35 For I am come to set a man at variance against his father, and the daughter against her mother, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.
Matthew 10:36 And a man's foes shall be they of his own household.

I have found that warmly calling rapists "Son," putting your arm around them, giving them quiet encouragement, offering them a spot in the family business, and talking about topics of mutual interest around the dinner table will help to improve the rapists' interest in your harlot daughter.
