Marriage and grandchildren: a parent's responsibility
There have been interesting topics related to "dating" (I've never understood what that's supposed to mean) and "gender" options, for family members to be aware of and for parents to identify. There's another thing called "going out" that's similarly enigmatic – seemingly involves "taking home" possibly to meet future parents-in-law. (short clip follows)
This is more significant because if your progeny is thinking about a permanent relationship, begetting will be involved one way or another and that means GRANDCHILDREN. There are a few tell-tale signs you should be aware of. A "retro" look can mean different things to different people. For some it's Frank Sinatra [CATHOLIC] or Sharon Stone [BUDDHIST] while for others it's even more unmitigated heathens from a later generation of lifestyle options. Fashion choices, displaying of rings or the twisting of fingers, these are small but—to the initiated—significant signals. Parents have other cues, much easier to spot. For example, a daughter bring home the Sinatra clone is a red flag and questions need to be asked. Similarly, sons. Why is she dressed like that, you may think? By standing close, asking if she'd like a coffee perhaps, and inhaling you'd glean at least part of what the son had in mind.
“Oh!” you could say. “Is that such & such a perfume?” even if your first thought was does she even wash?
In the case of a daughter, her beau could just be a blind, paid to get you on-side because he wears a tie even if no one else does when in reality she keeps her alternative wardrobe at his place and grandchildren, in either case, unless you do your homework, will be produced by one of these.
