Yet another attempt by liberal atheist evolutionary abortionists to stand between Godly Christian parents and their God Given Right to discipline their OWN children.

God clearly states His position on the matter in the Bible.
Proverbs 13:24 - He that spareth his rod hateth his son: but he that loveth him chasteneth him betimes.
Proverbs 23:13-14 - Withhold not correction from the child: for if thou beatest him with the rod, he shall not die. Thou shalt beat him with the rod, and shalt deliver his soul from hell.

We are well aware from various studies that there is an inverse correlation between IQ and Faith. That is, the higher one's IQ, the smaller the liklihood of that person having True Faith. This latest study yet again proves the validity and wisdom of God's Holy Book. Allowing your children's IQ to rise too high by abstaining from corporal punishment is one of the most dangerous impediments to their Eternal Salvation!

These "scientists" are merely confusing the cause-and-effect. The reason the smacked kids IQs are lower is because of their lower IQs they get smacked more often. Obviously they don't have the intelligence to know what is right or wrong compared to the smarter kids, therefore the dumb kids get hit, while the smart ones (who stay out of trouble) go spank-free.

Amen Reverend. I would also like to add that this study was done among the very poorest in our nation.

It assumes that the middle class and wealthy spare their children the rod. They gloss over that by saying that "studies" show that the poor are the most likely to use Christian Discipline® on their children.

I make my boys go select their own switch off the tree with the caveat that if it isn't thick and sturdy enough, that I will choose it for them.

I certainly concur, the dumb ones bring the rod of correction upon themselves.

I also strongly assert a good thumping can be worth 5 to 10 IQ points to the good, and that a national program to identify the needful and administer the thumps might not be too bad of an idea.

Beating children instills the fear of God in them. If you don't beat your children, they WILL go to hell. The trick is to not beat them to the point of retardation, in which case they will go to hell anyway. Kicking, punching, pinching, slapping, burning, and nearly drowning children requires just the right balance of savagery and finesse. It truly is an art form. I think this is God's way of calling me to teach a class.

What does 'IQ' mean? How is one measured? What tests are involved? I'm confused. Can someone please explain this to me. Does everyone have an IQ? And what does it do?

I'm sorry, but I've never heard of any of this nonsense in Bible Study or in Church, so I'll assume it can't be a good thing. Was it an approved subject on the True Christian™ Homeschooling Curriculum?
