There is a case where its not, I agree. And the Bible lays that out for us:

Deuteronomy 22:25-27

25But if a man find a betrothed damsel in the field, and the man force her, and lie with her: then the man only that lay with her shall die:
26But unto the damsel thou shalt do nothing; [there is] in the damsel no sin [worthy] of death: for as when a man riseth against his neighbour, and slayeth him, even so [is] this matter:
27For he found her in the field, [and] the betrothed damsel cried, and [there was] none to save her.

That is to say, if an engaged girl is raped in a field then its not her fault.

If an engaged girl is raped in the city, though, she is put to death along with her rapist. (There's a long discussion elsewhere about rape of unengaged girls and I won't retread that ground.)

Why's that? Why put her to death? Well Deuteronomy 22:24 tells us:

24Then ye shall bring them both out unto the gate of that city, and ye shall stone them with stones that they die; the damsel, because she cried not, [being] in the city; and the man, because he hath humbled his neighbour's wife: so thou shalt put away evil from among you.

In short, being in the city someone would have heard her if she'd shouted out. Therefore she didn't, therefore she didn't want it to stop, therefore slut. With me?

People here don't think rape is a lighthearted situation. We think its deadly serious. However, we accept that its largely the woman's fault. We were the ones who got everyone kicked out of paradise, after all?

Granted, #2 Rick Santorum is the most vocal of that position, but all four do share it. Even So-Often-Wrong Paul.

Of course rape is bad.

However, the baby resulting from the rape isn't bad. The pregnancy has only occurred because God allowed it to occur; He could easily have caused a failure to ovulate, or a failed fertilization, or spontaneous miscarriage. If He did not, it means He wants the woman to bear that child . . . which is a gift from Him!

So how can we possibly allow abortion in cases of rape or incest, when God has decided that the pregnancy should occur?

However, could you please help me understand why some people on here make rape seem like it's the woman's fault, or etc. I mean sometimes it is the woman's fault, but it's not all the time like people are making it seem. Why do some people make rape seem like... a light hearted situation? I really don't understand. Thank you so much for you competence though! So basically all you were saying in accordance to what I was saying, is that rape is bad? I wasn't stating comments about the pregnancy itself, but the the fact that I believe abortion is bad.
