Thank you for asking this and thanks to Sister Isabella for reviewing our experience to the dregs of society, the poor. We regularly tow vehicles like the one Sister Isabella pictured to the dump.

Any poor person who moves into Freehold is required to guarantee he/she will not apply for welfare. Applying for welfare is a ticket out of town. There are opportunities for poor people to work, cleaning houses, caring the children, sweeping streets with brooms. Social mixing with permanent residents is discouraged.

Oh, I am afraid that there have been times when freeloading slobs have, somehow or another, managed to infiltrate our beloved gated community, dear Sister Lamb. Why, I remember a couple of years ago when I looked out from the church lobby, and I saw that someone had had the unmitigated gall to park his dilapidated rust-bucket of a car in our parking lot. Not only had he parked his public eyesore in our lot, but he had used a spot in the Platinum Tither's exclusive section!

Well, I was having none of that, so I grabbed a broom from the janitor's closet and I went out there to chase him away. Just as I was about to approach him, one of his smart-alec kids yelled at me, "Hey, lady. Do you want flight insurance?" Thankfully, Brother Hutchins saw the incident taking place, so he came running out with his pitchfork. That ended a calamity in short order — thanks to for alerting us! And, ever since then, there have been no more intrusions!

Well, that's just too bad that some people are criticizing wealthy people, and demanding better living conditions. Those poor people should just concentrate on keeping their noses to the grindstones, and doing an honest day's work for an honest day's salary. If they were to be given opportunities to advance, they would only take it all for granted. Besides, there are far too many poor people to accommodate. It would be impossible to satisfy them, and nothing would ever be good enough for them. They would want more, more, more — and, we all know what had to say about such ungrateful types!

Matthew 26:11 "For ye have the poor always with you; but me ye have not always."

Think about it Ponce. If someone has more money they can create more jobs. They have yachts that need to be debarnacled, they have kids that need nannies and greens that need to be silky smooth for tee-off at 7. That's why God explicitly wrote Matthew 19:30 so people wouldn't misunderestimate His Word.

Of course the rich are first, they always get the last laugh.

  • "The Last Shall Be First" Does Not Mean the Poor Get a Break

I'm sure others who work at making Landover Baptist bigger and wealthier have had the same problem I have had recruiting wealthy white people. Some who are really wealthy say, "You Bible-reading Baptists don't like us rich people. You claim we rich come in last. We don't want to join a church of poor people. They are losers."

It takes some patience to explain this Bible passage does not mean the poor have a higher Christian status than the rich. We Real Christianstm know the rich are better than the poor. The passage, Matthew 19:30, is talking about old fake gods the cavemen had which they thought were first. The Christian God came along and kicked out the fake gods. God is now first.

Matthew 19:30 is especially sensitive just now because our President wants his wealth to be admired. His cabinet members are wealthy like he is. These wealthy people are first, not last. We best remember to explain the wealthy are considered to be in first place at Landover Baptist.
