Hungry, yeah that's it hungry. So when's the big pie eating contest?
Do you have sack races on the same day??? Is there a contest to judge who's pie is the tastiest? Ladies, I must say that I can tell just by looking at your pictures, that I'd just love to gobble down a slice of your pie.

I know modesty is a Godly trait ma'am ... but you said not a word of your own pies. I'm not real picky, as long as it pleases all of the senses, sight, touch, taste and smell. Award winning pies are a good thing, but I don't require a blue ribbon on it to enjoy a tasty pie.

Well until recently, I was cursed with soggy crusts. I made crumbles and cobblers, and when necessary I would sneak out and bought pre-made crusts

But the Good Ladies of Landover have assisted me with my issues and now my crusts are firm and flaky!

My husband loves upland hunting so I often make pheasant pie. I will also make fish pie during salmon season.

A few parting thoughts on pies:

A memorable pie has that moist melt-in-your-mouth quality about it. It should never be too sweet, nor too tart, but leave a pleasant aftertaste on the tongue. When I find a pie with these attributes it doesn't seem to last long, but is gone lickity-split. The best pies I've ever came across were always moist, but never runny.
