I will concede, but why were witches burned in the past.

As an Officer of the Law who has spent a great deal of his career (and life) studying the execution procedures of various cultures, I can answer this for you.

The fact of the matter is the silly Catholic church's policies stated that the church abhorred the spilling of blood, so burning witches allowed them to justify their acts.

If they would just follow what the Bible says, none of that would have happened of course, and they could have just stoned them to death like God intends.

What about an African safari witch hunt?
I hear they are stringy and tough, but there is no way you will go home empty handed. They have millions of them over there. I also hear they are fun to hunt unlike the domestic ones, because they are quick and can actually run more than 30 feet before getting winded.

I did a little research, God says we should stone them.

Leviticus 20:6 And the soul that turneth after such as have familiar spirits, and after wizards, to go a whoring after them, I will even set my face against that soul, and will cut him off from among his people.

Leviticus 20:27 A man also or woman that hath a familiar spirit, or that is a wizard, shall surely be put to death: they shall stone them with stones: their blood shall be upon them.

Can I offer any one some stones at a close out price?

All the women will need to ensure that all their washing is off the clothesline.

Good question. I'd say burning them, at least then they understand what is waiting for them. Plus in all aspects we must purge them, so stoning would not do such a good job as their bodies would still be left. Burning allows for purification and also prevents the witch from returning using her heathen magic.
