Friends, as you well know, laying a beating on a "person of color" or a sodomist carries a stiffer penalty than laying the same beating on a God-fearing white male heterosexual, because it's a "hate crime."
Well, leave it to Berkeley, the most liberal city in the country, to add hippies on bicycles to the list of people who are more equal than the rest of us:

Bicyclists tend to be scofflaws who habitually ignore the rules of the road and cause accidents. Worse yet, the vast majority of them are jobless bums. Why else would they be riding a bike instead of driving a car? A lot of them are also eco-terrorists and runners for drug dealers.
The Bible has much to say about such mischief being enshrined in law:
I give much more weight to God's laws than man's, so you may rest assured I will continue to sound my horn, rev my engine, and throw trash at any bicyclist who attempts to violate my right of way as a motorist!

...Next month, the city plans to add a new chapter to Berkeley's Municipal Code prohibiting the harassment of bicyclists "because of, in whole or in part, the bicyclist’s status as a bicyclist." Violators could face a civil lawsuit, be liable for damages and end up paying court fees.
The purpose of the new code is to encourage more lawyers to take on cases of harassment against cyclists, according to Councilmember Kriss Worthington.
