Oh Jesus was my Valentine
As He was bleeding on that knotty pine
He cleansed my heart with His Blood
And suddenly I felt a flood
Of peace and love and joy and cheer
Contentment sweet, His Spirit Dear
Yes Jesus was my very special Valentine

And now I want to give it back
Although my gift will certainly lack
The dedication He showed to people
On the cross that appears on every steeple
I want to give Him a small piece
Of my life on which He renewed the lease
