I think it depends on the thickness. It's also important to remember other places, some rather tacky looking, where frankly a halfhearted effort has been made cheaping out on the gold. Something more thorough is called for here. Some examples to avoid: from left, tacky gold chair, tacky gold statue (of what I have no idea!) and tacky gold foot.

I do not understand this. That entire building has the smell of Biden and even worse, the smell of Obama. Why demolish only part of it? That entire building should be burned to the ground and be replaced with a nice white blacks-and-demoncrats-not-allowed building instead. To make obvious what the intention is, it should be called the white house to clearly state it is only meant for white Christian republicans.

President Trump is being quite cautious. I'm sure that the mistake was made in 1814 when Madison should have flattened and rebuilt the burnt-out shell into something more fitting God's Country in the style of the time. I rather hope that Donald designs the new wing, "in his own image", as it were. Something that informs the World "Here lives the Leader of the World! A compassionate genius and philanthropist dedicated to freedom and all that is fair and just."

I'm wondering, is there any law against having President Trump's picture on both sides of every denomination, $1 to $10,000?

This is utterly exciting and wonderful news! During these dismal times - in expectation of Jesus carrying out His promise to smite sinners most severely by destroying this world - our leaders desperately need some R & R, no-one more than President Mr. Trump. Nighttime balling and gaiety with jolly old timers and chaste young Caucasian comely youths is just what He needs to keep the Earth viable until Jesus decides otherwise. Oh I hope there'll be ballnights in the manner of the good old days!

    Jeremiah 31:13
Then shall the virgin rejoice in the dance, both
young men and old together: for I will turn their mourning into joy, and will comfort them, and make them rejoice from their sorrow.

I am sure that the orchestras will come with decent, Biblical instruments to Praise the Donald, such as the timbrel (whatever that might be) and the harp!

    Psalms 149:3
Let them praise his name in the dance: let them sing praises
unto him with the timbrel and harp.

    Yours in Christ,

    Elmer

Good observation, Padre Rovagnati. The White House falls into the category of Post Modern Architecture. If one looks at other examples of Post Modern you see the same thing:

They say no two nations with a national ballroom ever fought in a war. It's just common sense economically. For centuries forth it will be known as the Trump-Epstein-Maxwell little girls dancing room.

Get Rid of the East Wing, An Eyesore

There is so much useless chatter about demolition of the Whitehouse East Wing. Cranes are now knocking down walls and trucks are hauling it off to the landfill. Good riddance. So called "Historic Preservationists" are having a cow because Trump did not consult with them. They want to review the plans for his new wonderful Ballroom to make certain it "conforms" to the standards of historic building preservation.

What balderdash. The new Trump Ballroom does not need to look like the rest of the White House. What matters is whether events there come off on schedule and within budget. There needs to be a large bus parking area. This will bring guests in, rapidly get them off buses and into the building and get them out just as fast. There needs to be a large gift shop and another large area for people to line up for selfies with Trump. Pointy-headed "preservationists" have no role in this project.
