It concerns me alot that people would even believe ideas like that about haunters.
I for one am a father of 3, am in a very active leadership role in my christen church and LOVE Halloween.
I even had a disagreement with my ecclesiastical leader about trunk-or-treat this year.
It got a little heated to day the least, but has never affected my beliefs about Christ or my love of Halloween
I find it Ironic that you seem so quick to cast the first stone and quote bible verse (that is a stretch to apply to the topic) decrying haunters.
I pity people who are so narrow minded that they can not enjoy the holiday for what it is now, a fun time.
I am not saying that there are not cases where some haunter had ulterior motives when haunting. It would be narrow minded of me to think that, however, every group has problems with people abusing children. Every religion has had instances of trusted leaders sexually abusing children. By your logic we might as well brand all pastor's or reverends(cough) as child molesters. That would be wrong to do however. I know many of different faiths who are in their position to server god, and not molest children.
You are entitled to believe what you want, but before you cast stereotypes calling all haunters pedophiles, perverts, sickos and using associative terrorist scare tactics you might want to get your facts straight.

Thank God I found this site. For awhile now, I have been under the false assumption that Halloween was just a secular, fun-filled holiday. Today, after having read this thread, I now understand what the vile, Satan-filled, 'hell-a-day' is all about. I am guilty of the sin of being a home haunter for the last 11 years and I need help to stop this disgusting habit. Could anyone here please help me to break santan's spell over me. Maybe you all are the problem, why don't you quit being so self centered. People can be religious and also celebrate halloween in a fun manner. If scaring people was such a bad thing, then why are Haunts so successful? BECAUSE PEOPLE ENJOY IT, IT CAN BE FUN! You never sneaked up on a family member and jokingly scared them? You all must lead a pretty boring life! I believe in God, I am not satanic, but I celebrate Halloween and Christmas! I seen more Sex Offenders lurking in the churches lately than in the darkness of October 31st. So why not judging others, just lead your lives how you wish, quit creating DRAMA! Life is short, don't make your children miss out on what they may enjoy because you don't enjoy it. Instead of turning off your lights, give these little ones a treat, maybe even a fat free and healthy treat. Make them smile and let them be kids!
