My specific point is that someone truly committed to a Biblical mindset would not accept the concept of marital rape. The Bible says that a man and wife are one flesh. One cannot rape oneself. Furthermore, wives are to be subservient to their husbands. If a husband commands sex, a wife submits. If he commands her to make a pot roast, is she going to cry "rape"?


Regarding the point that you just made, we are not determined to disbelieve women when they report some sort of sexual advance. We are determined to judge whether such a sexual advance makes the woman's father or husband a victim and how they can be recompensed for a crime against their property. That is rape as the Bible sees it, and it is wrong.


Now, if the woman did not cry rape at the time of the actual sexual advance, then no rape occurred. Fornication or adultery occurred and the woman is to be properly punished (stoned to death is most common) for HER crime against her father or husband and God.
