Crystal meth does not stop pain, so it's uses in medicine are few. It is used to help cure extreme obesity though, so there you have it.

And of course you do not recall God giving Job morphine, God is far to sadistic to consider that!
Imagine that, Job has his entire life ruined, his children killed, his wife left him, and he went through huge amounts of pain. For what? Why because God had to prove a point, of course! That is like getting impaled because the king wanted to prove to his friend that humans have organs.

So no, I do not think that Job could have expected any morphine, or any godly pain reducers for his huge amounts of pain, god loved him too much for that.

I said opium poppy because a large amount of our current painkillers come from it. I did not say go smoke opium to forget your troubles, I think doing that would make them worse in the long run.

I do not condone getting high to forget life's troubles. Not because the Government says so, but because it makes problems worse. I condone using pain medication as a powerful tool, to be used responsibly.

I don't recall Job having an opium pipe beside his bed as Satan tortured him. I don't recall God saying to Job, "Here, have a shot of morphine."

Strikes me that if God intended you to suffer, then that is your lot in life and you should, like Job, accept it willingly and without loss of faith.

We are intelligent, and that means we have the ability to manipulate the earth into our needs and desires much better then animals. While animals must suffer, we can take morphine and live our lives.
