I don't use the word because I "think it's a fun word to use". I use it because I'm old enough to remember when "negro" was the word everyone used, and no one had a problem with it. I remember seeing Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. give speeches, and no one cared that he used the word "negro". He's a hero in the civil rights movement, and he didn't have any problems with the word negro.

I've always used the word "negro". Why do I have to change because a new generation of people who had nothing to do with the historical civil rights movement suddenly decided that the word is offensive?

The question I asked you, and that you couldn't answer, is why do the acceptable and unacceptable words keep changing? Who is in charge of that, and why do you listen to them instead of thinking for yourself?

Besides, I always thought it was funny when George Jefferson called Archie Bunker a honky. I've never found that word to be offensive.

Bambo, our True Christian™ ex-Nigras inform us that when they were darkies, they liked the term Negro. Just like Whites are Caucasian.

Really, is it our fault you are so unhappy with your Nigra heritage? Why must you spread your racial hate on God's Favorite Forum?

I don't see how black, negro, or African-American are offensive.

It seems completely arbitrary to me. There's a thing called "thinking for yourself". You might want to try it instead of just accepting whatever Jessie Jackson tells you.

What does segregation being abolished and being more tolerant and open-minded have to do with choosing between synonyms? How does tolerance or open-mindedness or the end of segregation cause acceptable words to become derogatory?

You aren't making a lot of sense.

Besides, I thought black was offensive now, and we are supposed to call you an "African-American". Or has that changed too?

Don't cry to my house, when Blacks beat you up because you are so pig-headed.

Are you out there protesting the United Negro College Fund, demanding that they change their name? Martin Luther King Jr. used the word "negro". Do you think he was a racist?

Are you familiar with etymology? Did you know that the word "negro" means "black"?

You've accepted Jesus? Then how come your D.O.F. file shows you as "Unsaved Trash" and not a member of Jesus' private Country Club? I think I smell a lie, my friend! Where was I condescending! If you think it is condescending for me to point out that you have not yet accepted Jesus' generous, limited time offer of Salvation(tm) and are bound for Hell, then you have some serious comprehension problems. Otherwise, I am going to assume that you are just bitter at your great grand-pappy, Ham, and need some counseling to resolve those issues.

And don't pretend to be all "high and mighty". Remember, on the scale of Righteousness, you're about a rung above an earthworm, until you accept Jesus Christ as your Savior.
