What is the proper way to spank a heathen child?

So, I am considering taking my niece into my home to get her out of the heathen home of my brother. Being that I am single, is it okay for me to do this? Or would is be wrong for me to do this without being marrried? I only have the child's well being on my mind.

And if it is okay for me to take her into my home and under my wing, what is the proper way to discipline/spank a child from a heathen home? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

The only decent family is one of a husband and wife submitting to Jesus, and the woman submitting to the man. That said, I'm sure it would be better for your niece to be raised by a Godly woman instead of a Godless man.
As for spanking, a sturdy leather belt or a fine wooden spoon should be fine.

After the "rule of thumb" law, many states adopted a similar policy for children. Basically a rod no thicker than your thumb. The original law was that a man could not beat his wife with a rod bigger around than his thumb. (Granted this was England that originally adopted this law)

If there is no possibility of Salvation for her, that is, if she is truly a heathen child, then the proper way to spank her will require several strong friends and a number of stones, in the village square.

However, I assume you're taking her in because you believe she can be saved. In this case, RDD's advice for a rod is perfectly appropriate. I believe James Dobson wrote a lovely piece on the subject, but I don't have the link handy.

My eyesight is quite fine, thank you for your concern. Why, was there an egregious typo I missed somewhere? If so, I do apologize. Hopefully I'm a long way from needing specialized equipment to hear what's on the screen, but if God decrees it, I will accept it.

No offense, Sister, I know you mean well but what she really needs is a good paddling from a True Christian™ Man. As a woman you wouldn't be able to put the needed force behind each swing to beat the devil out of her.

I'm sure you'd be welcome to help though. It might be challenging to get her into the correct position and as it will take a while to beat the devil out of her you can give him water as needed. You might even be allowed to do some spanking of your own when the man needs a break.

Speaking of disciplining I would like to thank Sister Mary Maria for taking over the disciplining of the female servants. As you all know I won't do it less these weak willed women succumb to depravity over my manful handling of them. I run a proper Christian house and I will have not have myself as the subject of female self pollution from my own staff. I know no seed murder is involved in this but a gateway sin like that will only turn my servant’s quarters into a nest of thespian depravity

Previous I had to hire some woman by the name of Helga from Des Moines and she was, well, a little odd with all that leather she would wear. But now Sister Mary Maria has offered to help me and I can tell she already put the fear of God into them. Why when I announced this young Juanita said "No pleaze' Senor Tabor. That woman make me uncomfortable they way she starez’ at me. It 'ez like I am a piece of meat." So with Sister Mary Maria’s eye on these girls I see things are going to go well. PRAISE!

Pastor Zeke and I had a very good prayer session the other day when we went over my potential suitors, but neither of us had any idea that you might be interested! Godly discipline, yes. That's what I need to clear my mind. It is my pleasure to help you out, Brother BJ. If they're not kept in line, those heathens would rob you blind. We certainly don't want them using their firm, rounded bottoms to tempt you into sin, and while you are certainly strong enough in God to resist, this is still the wisest decision.
