There are convoluted excuses as to why certain hairstyles don't constituting broiding. Dreadlocks, for instance, have been wrought into their unnatural condition—even if one had been sleeping in haystacks for the last 5 years—by using combs or forks in much the same way that rags are employed to generate curls, which otherwise would not be there. The purpose is to display one's head for inappropriate activities. Wanton-looking styles achieved artificially are unsuitable during prayer.

She had a lovely voice, the singer. We need to remember, though, that not everyone would emulate her sentiments – which is why I noticed the eyelids. Christians do not flap eyelids during prayer any more than mutter a price list for "extras" or whatever she's doing. Grimacing perhaps, but clearly not in shame. More likely she was thinking, how soon can this ordeal be over?

That's when she, and the poor sap sitting next to her, had their shoulders squeezed. What did the songstress know? Who could she see waiting outside the window? At this time of year it's so important to remind everyone how wicked we all were from birth – until Saved by Jesus. Many have not been and never will. Many guests are more interested in heathen activities outside the window than remembering the real reason we'd gathered in the first place. It's up to us to remind them.

Jesus was often seen dining in the company of sinners. But he didn't sit there and bear witness to sinful talk and sinful behavior. So,it is really good to let hell-bound relatives know that you're emulating Jesus by supping with them.

Remind them to guard their tongues as though they had Jesus right there with them at the table, because in a way they do. . . Tell them not to expect any tricks with the wine, though. If they want to drink it, they need to bring it.

I disagree. A home and table with atheist liberals is a situation where sinners cannot escape. They are trapped there until the dinner is over. It is perfect time to let the sinners know God is watching them and unless they accept Jesus they are bound for an eternity in the fire pit. You are doing them no favor by discussing football quarterbacks and the weather. Their sins are a perfect topic for the Thanksgiving Dinner. And, if you are asked to give the table prayer, be sure to request help for your sinning relatives.

How to avoid political turmoil with your relatives this Thanksgiving

Oh, how I do agree so very much, dear Brother Mayor Hold. I can see no valid reason why our blessed Thanksgiving dinners should be disrupted because of a LIE-beral speaking out of turn. Goodness knows that "best table manners" apply in a situation like this; and, since this is Thanksgiving, one should be mindful of one's duty to show gratitude unto the for the bounty which He has bestowed.

And, inviting an atheist to Thanksgiving is a perfect opportunity for a to witness to the lost soul,for which he or she should end up being very thankful for being shown how to avoid the eternal fires of .

This reminds me of last Thanksgiving, when a friend (Matilda) of Agatha (my sister) was invited to my dinner. Matilda is a backslidden believer in , and I was hoping that she might re-dedicate her life unto the . Well, just as Beulah Mae (my cook) was bringing the turkey out of the oven, Matilda came into the kitchen to offer assistance, and she remarked at how warm it was in the kitchen. With an oven going at 350 F. for hours, and with every burner with the flames on, yes, it was on the hot side.

But, that gave me a good chance to mention that the heat in the kitchen, as hot as it was, was only temporary, and not truly as hot as what awaits the lost sinner who is headed straight to the fires of ETERNAL .

Certainly, that made Matilda to think of her fate, and it was after the dinner that she came to me, to thank me for helping her to return to the saving Grace of the , as she re-committed her life to the .

How earnestly did family members around the first Thanksgiving table yearn for backsliding loved ones to return to Christ. In the modern era we're blessed with audio devices and can select background music to remind our relatives that Jesus died for them. His blood ran out from flowing wounds and between their birth and their death there's a wonderful opportunity for them to be Redeemed. (What from I won't dwell on here: is there no depravity wretched souls will not embrace, each and every day?) I've been playing through some of these and was particularly moved by such beautiful lyrics, here condensed to three verses.

It's fairly easy to set a device to gradually increase the volume over a few hours. For those with instruments, this is written in B♭ but I've been playing in B♭minor (five flats) adding an A♭major occasionally with a B♭^sus2 at the end of the first line.

(Guitarists aren't fond of flats so C♯m would work well, with C♯^sus2 and Bmj thrown in as led by The Spirit. Additionally, your lowest E string could be detuned to D♯ and played as a drone, omitting it for the final chord. Very effective and I'm sure doubting Thomases—or outright heathens—will be moved.)

And what could be more natural than a conversation started among family members concerning Christ's blood? I know the reading of hymns—it needn't take more than ½ hour—was particularly helpful for me when I was that fool. But today I know The Truth.
