  • Pretty Good Day.

    Hi friends...

The good news is I'm now 36 hours sober. The shakes are quite bad and the temptation at the flophouse to relapse is just too great.

So I got up early and started walking south of the strip thinking I might see what all this church stuff is about. I found Cornerstone Baptist in time for the 8 oclock service and walked up the steps. They would not let me in... said I had to prove I was saved before I was welcome. Or tithe 100 dollars and I could be saved on the steps. I have a Keno ticket worth a dollar, but nothing else left to my name....

A bus for the Holy Cross Lutheran church in Henderson happened by and I flagged them down. They welcomed me with open arms and the service was inspiring. I'm not sure why, but they had two large men watching me as the plate was passed. I put my Keno ticket in the plate.....

Any way I'm trying to be a Christian and think I have found a church that wants me. Doesn't to be seem much difference between them all. They use the same book and sing pretty much the same songs.

I guess I need your prayers?

This is terrible news. Luthers don't care about God at all because they fail to follow the Bible. They are not Christians™.

You should have tithed to the Baptist Church, you foolish drunkard. $100 for salvation? Yes please!*

*The good news is you can still be saved. Just tithe this Church a lot, God'll put you in his account book.

"But Mr. Winner, if GOD loves everyone then why is there so much suffering in the world?"

Because GOD doesn't love everyone. Too many people have this absurd idea in their heads that GOD is all loving.
If he was all loving, then murderers, thieves and homosexuals would be waiting for you in Heaven.

Well that's a sign of a True Christian church. It is the True Christians that don't want just anyone walking into their Sunday services. I suggest that you contact this church again tomorrow and speak with the pastor about becoming saved.

A bus for the Holy Cross Lutheran church in Henderson happened by and I flagged them down. They welcomed me with open arms and the service was inspiring. I'm not sure why, but they had two large men watching me as the plate was passed. I put my Keno ticket in the plate.....
And this is the sign of a typical false Christian church. They'll take anyone as long as you put something in the plate, they'll tell you all the loving stuff in the Bible and ignore the bad stuff. I wouldn't be surprised to find out that they used the NIV.

Any way I'm trying to be a Christian and think I have found a church that wants me. Doesn't to be seem much difference between them all. They use the same book and sing pretty much the same songs.
Please, please, please go back to the Baptist church, remember Matthew 7:13 Enter ye in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leadeth to destruction, and many there be which go in thereat:

Please remember this, Churches that are willing to accept anyone and only tell you the good stuff are a one way ticket to hell.

I guess I need your prayers?
You have my prayers. But I am begging you to go back and talk to one of the Baptist pastors.

You made the wrong choice, silly little man. What good is that $100 going to do you when you are being tormented eternally in the fiery pits of hell? It is delusional to think that money belongs to you in the first place. You should be grateful that the LORD allows you to keep any of your earnings at all.

              Haggai 2:8
The silver is mine, and the gold is mine, saith the LORD of hosts.

Jesus will surely forgive you for attending a false Church if you get on your knees right now and REPENT! Let Him into your heart, and be filled with the Holy Spirit TODAY.

Next Sunday, I want you to go back to the Baptist Church, tithe to the LORD of hosts, undergo full immersion baptism, and share with the congregation your tales of wanton depravity and how you came to seek the Face of the LORD.

Move thine troubled bowels or get off the pot, Larry. Salvation™ is serious business.
              II Thessalonians 1:7-9
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power

The man who is being progressively sanctified will inescapably sanctify his home, school, politics, economics, science, and all things else by understanding and interpreting all things in terms of the Word of God and by bringing all things under the Dominion of Christ the King. -R.J. Re: Pretty Good Day.

But I don't HAVE a hundred dollars to get in. That's the problem. It's a pretty fancy church and they were clear that it took cash to get in the door if I was unsaved.

I suppose I could snatch a purse again, but I'm trying to leave that life behind. Are the Lutherans really that bad? They were very nice people and pointed out how they were not there to judge me as that is God's decision. According to them, I was saved this morning just by saying a few words in prayer as they held my hands. If I was saved by the Lutherans, will the Baptists let me in?

I don't know what else to do.... I guess I could hawk this computer in the flophouse lobby? It's a real nice model called a "486". But that would be stealing too because it's not mine.

Maybe I'm just not meant to be in a church? My sins are many after all...

                Help?

There is no fast easy way to the Lord, only to hell.

1 Corinthians 10:20 But I say, that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to devils, and not to God: and I would not that ye should have fellowship with devils
Genesis 1:1 In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth
Proverbs 19:25 Smite a scorner, and the simple will beware: and reprove one that hath understanding, and he will understand knowledge.
Ezekiel 16:14 And thy renown went forth among the heathen for thy beauty: for it was perfect through my comeliness, which I had put upon thee, saith the Lord GOD.
Proverbs 6:25 Lust not after her beauty in thine heart; neither let her take thee with her eyelids.
Genesis 24:16 And the damsel was very fair to look upon, a virgin, neither had any man known her: and she went down to the well, and filled her pitcher, and came up.
Song of Solomon 1:15 Behold, thou art fair, my love; behold, thou art fair; thou hast doves' eyes.

Why are you so mean to me? I am making every effort to get saved and you are still talking about hell for me. I've BEEN to hell here in Vegas.

Is there no love in your "christian" heart?

The hell of vegas is just the depravity like in Sodom and Gomorrha. Have you really repented and given yourself to the Lord, or are you just using the Lord to escape from your eternal damnation.

                          Re: Pretty Good Day.

Well Larry .... it is with mixed emotions I read this thread.

I am pleased that you are looking to find God in Las Vegas.

But it saddens me that you are looking in the wrong places.

Brother Billy Bob is so right here Larry.

You need to go to the Baptist Pastor today and ask what chores he requires for you to EARN your $100. No bag snatching. No hocking items that do not belong to you. Just honest hard work.

He may want you to wash the fleet of cars the church owns. With your shakes that should be quite achievable as you will shake over each area a few times even when aiming for an area beside it.

Honest hard work Larry. God didn't even give his son our Lord Jesus an easy ride. He was a carpenter and are you aware that Jesus is still working as a carpenter even to this day?

                          John 14:2 (King James Version)
2 In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.

Now if you want Jesus to knock together a nice room in Heaven for you then you need to do the work on earth for Him.

Chin up young man. You can do it. Bit of hard work now for eternal life in Heaven.

                          Matthew 5:12 (King James Version)
12 Rejoice, and be exceeding glad: for great is your reward in heaven:
                          2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land Australia.

You should go to a Universalist Unitarian church. They will accept you for who you are.
